A war cry left her lips as she stepped out into the sun. Her arms wide as she soaked in the rays. The rays she would be spending the next three-ish months soaking in before her senior year.

"That's right bitches! I'm out for summer!" Her words fell to the empty parking lot in front of her. Everyone else still had two more class periods as well as an entire additional day of finals to go through.

Xena however drew the long straw for a change. All her finals were completed in her last period before lunch meaning she had the entire rest of the day to do absolutely whatever the hell she wanted.

Which looked like her curling up on her window seat with a book and some refreshments to keep her content for a while.

"Boy have I missed this." Her voice was soft as she spoke on the act of reading. It had been too long since she read for pleasure.

With that in mind, Xena opened the cover and began her journey into a world of magic.

Several hours passed. The words consuming her every being as she ignored the real world. At some point Marie had come home from work and went to check on her daughter. When she found her curled in a blanket absorbed in a book a soft smile found it's way to her lips while she shut Xena's bedroom door.

"I'll bring her up some dinner." Marie told Gray as he continued to cook.

"I guess we could have a little home dinner date then?" Gray rose an eyebrow as he glanced over his shoulder. The love of his life right there as she pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"Sounds wonderful. I'm gonna go shower and change."

The scent of chicken-chili filled Xena's nose as the knocking on her door pulled her from her trance. Her eyes flicking to the door then down to her phone as she saw it was well past five which was the time she agreed to stop.

"Gray and I were going to have a mini date downstairs while you were reading. Unless you wanted to come eat with us?" Xena smiled at her mother but shook her head.

"I'll be just fine. You two enjoy your date."

"Thank you, honey. I've made you a bowl and brought you some water." Marie pulled the items out of thin air as she set them on the desk beside the door. "If you need anything else don't hesitate to come down and get it."

"Thank you, Ma." When the door shut, Xena stood up and stretched before making her way to the bathroom to freshen up.

Meanwhile leaving her balcony unattended as silhouettes made their way up under the guise of the moon.

"I can't believe he did that." Xena speaks to herself as she enters the room again, her hands grabbing the bowl and glass of water.

She went to sit back down in her same spot when she noticed something was off. Her book wasn't in the same orientation as it had been when she left.

Just when Xena set her dinner down, a hand moved to wrap itself around her mouth. Another around her waist.

She didn't hesitate as she jabbed her elbow backwards into the attacker's side. Then stomped her foot onto theirs. Next she reared her head back into their nose before finally turning and lifting her leg into their groin.

The moans of pain reached her ears as her eyes blew wide. The blond male on his knees as Xena quickly dropped to her own.

"Oh my, JJ, I'm sorry!" She winced as he held his groin carefully.

"Damn, T. I'm glad that wasn't me."

"B, not right now. I actually really hurt him." Xena cut off John B as she helped JJ lean against the wall.

Of course as painful as it was, Xena helping him made JJ milk it even more. His moans of pain louder than previously.

"Do I need to get you an ice pack? Pain killers?" Xena's face was almost directly in JJ's as she assessed the damage.

"A kiss may make it all better." She blinked twice before popping JJ on the side of the head and standing up.

"He's fine." She announced rising from the floor and turning to find John B sitting on her bed.

"Knew he would be."

"Where'd you learn to do that?" JJ grunted as he realized he'd been caught. His hands pushing from the floor as he stood up.

"You ever seen Ms. Congeniality?" The two boys ooh-ed, nodding as they recalled the scene where Grace teaches the viewers to SING.

"You could had me fooled as a black belt." JJ huffed as he sat on the bed with John B.

"Yeah I've got one of those too."

"Really?"

"No, B. I was being a smartass."

Xena sat back down on her window seat and grabbed her food. The two boys just watching as she ate. She groaned as she realized how bouncy they were.

"What are you two wanting to go do now?"

"And why am I friends with y'all?" I whispered asking the two as we stared at Topper's house. How is it that literally everyone going to the Kook Academy were freaking billionaires?

"Because we are awesome and you love us?" John B made it sound like it was obvious but at the same time unsure. JJ seemed to agree with John B while I just shrugged.

"I guess." The two gasped and proceeded to poke me either side. "Hey, I was kidding. But seriously, I knew the Cameron's are extremely well off, but it's like all the Kooks are."

"Yeah, yeah. Let's just get going before the sun comes up." John B said cutting my shock in half as he slams a black backpack into my stomach.

"Happy Summer, Topper." I grinned as we all got started.

If you asked me why I was throwing toilet paper and cracking eggs on his car, I couldn't give you a legitimate reason.

Neither could I give you a reason when we decided to use the rest of our supplies along the stretch of the neighborhood.

It's just the way things were.

Pogues will be Pogues. Kooks will be Kooks. They'll never mix. Not peacefully.

And if you're situated in the middle, they'll make you make a choice.

Are you a Kook or are you a Pogue?

I've come to the conclusion that it's just a silly little title- but to these guys, the ones who were born and raised here on Kildare, that little title is everything.

And you'd be damned to think otherwise.
