I frowned.

"I'm not the giant that stood up with someone on their back. I didn't want to fall." I saw a gleam run through his eyes before the sounds of our friends fighting brought me back to the topic had hand.

"Fights on," I spoke, releasing myself to slide down but his hands grabbing my thighs stop me. My eyes widened as I felt him start moving, the random large tree behind us getting closer. "Oh fuck." I hissed as I slam my arms into his shoulders hoping to hit a pressure point and get him to let go.

My years of watching movies and TV shows had prepared me for this moment, the tree was now too close for it to be a random convenience. I felt a rush of wind as I was whipped around before my back slammed into the bark.

I didn't hold on, knowing he'd only do it again, so I let go, reaching above me and grabbing hold of the perfectly placed branch.

He felt me go limp and let my thighs go, only to turn around and be met with my feet landing square on his chest. I let out a bark of surprise as he tumbled backward, I dropped to the ground, my back hitting the tree as I splayed my hands out to get my balance.

We both stood upright, our fists raised as we began to circle one another, a replay of our night last night.

"This feels familiar." He mocked as we sized each other up.

"Yeah, right before I beat your ass." Our glares could have started a fire as we finally moved to strike one another.

However, neither of us thought a fire would start. We froze, our heads turning to look at the screen as flames lined the bottom. Which I can assure was not because of our stare down.

I spared Rafe one last glance and took a second to give him another hook to his face. His hand rising to hold his cheek as I glared at him.

"Fire, let's go." Rafe yelled, dropping his hand showing a small trace of blood along his cheek bone.

"Kelce, let go of JJ!" Kie shouted her voice hoarse as I turned to assess the damage.

"Let him go, Kelce!" I roared as I stepped towards him, his hands raising as he stepped back pushing JJ as he went around him. Topper leaving too as he was pulled along by Rafe.

"Let's get out of here, let's go." Rafe urged. His eyes meeting mine once more before the three Kooks took off.

I felt myself begin to drop as I looked at JJ and Pope. We were all fucked up.

"Kie, grab Pope, I got JJ. We need to go."

"You're a freaking idiot." Pope choked out as he draped an arm around Kie's shoulder.

"I saved your ass. Come on." I moved over to JJ, the blond standing on his own.

"Thank you for helping him." I whispered, as I put JJ's arm around my shoulder and my arm around his waist. The two of us holding each other up.

"I can't believe I listened to you. I was gonna come help once I saw you on the ground but Kelce got in the way." I sighed leaning into him slightly.

"It all worked out in the end. Now. We need to get to the gym. I don't have enough gear to help the three of us at my house."

"I don't think we care. But uh, if we go to the gym, you think Roy could tell you where his pain killers are." I let out a weak laugh.

"I'll see if Roy can meet us there. Pope and I need to have a concussion check."

"Well you better get to calling."

"You know Murphy is gonna want to know why we're here this late." Roy said as we came in through the back entrance, his keys in hand as he let us into the training room.

"I'll tell him what happened. It's not like he doesn't know about the stupid turf war." I mumbled as I held the door open for JJ and Kie to lug Pope in.

"Alright. Well everyone, we met briefly. Names Roy, I'm Xena's physical trainer and medic. I have my license and qualifications on the wall right over there. This is my training room, your goal should be to stay out of it. Though Xena apparently loves it so much she keeps coming back."

I roll my eyes as the others chuckle.

"Pope, you look the worst, so let's get you up on the table first. JJ if you'll sit down. Xena, could you grab water bottles from my fridge."

I did as he asked, passing them out before joining Kie in sitting on the hard wooden bench.

"That was smart thinking. Lighting the canvas on fire." I spoke as we watched Pope groan as Roy looked him over for injuries.

"Yeah, well, in a panic you got to do what you got to do." I nodded.

"You have no idea." I murmured drinking from the water bottle. The cold liquid making me hum.

Pope didn't have a concussion thankfully and he only had minimal bruising. Mostly around his neck from where Topper had him in a chokehold.

JJ went next, his bruising much more severe as I saw where Rafe and Kelce had gotten him.

When it was my turn, I could barely sit up. I was exhausted and the lack of sleep made it worse.

"Well, you don't have a concussion. But you need to get your ass to bed. Your new bandages are good for fifteen hours just don't get them wet. I gave all three of you painkillers, so you should be fine until the morning." We nodded, my eyes flittering as my eyelids grew heavy.

"A word to the wise, she doesn't drive home tonight."

"I've got a spare room for her, thank you, Roy."

"Any friend of Xena's is a friend of mine." He smiled as he watched Kie come over and help me on my feet.

"Xena, I don't want to see you for two days. That's all I ask."

"I'll try, Roy." I let out a ferocious yawn. My body telling me it was time for bed.

"And she's officially crashed, adrenaline ca-put." Pope narrated as JJ came and scooped me up, my body limp as I curled into him.
