"Morning Kie." I voiced as I flipped a pancake.

"Ugh," she groaned as she sat on a stool, "morning Xena." I turned smiling as I handed off some water and some aspirin to her.

"There's a sports drink in the fridge once you finished so you can hydrate." I informed as I turned back to the pancake mix. She hummed and remained silent until she finished her glass of water before standing up and getting the drink I had in the fridge for her.

"So. You met Sarah Cameron yesterday." Kie started wearily, trying to read the room.

"Briefly. I was pretty preoccupied with trying to stop a fight before it got physical." I joked as I finished the last pancake and plated it.

I set the plate of pancakes on the center island next to the cut-up fruit and syrup before calling for my mother.

"Hey Ma! I got the pancakes done- you can come eat now."

"Mmh! Yum! It smells delicious, Xena. Oh, Good morning Kiara." My mother dropped her volume when she saw Kie's wince of a smile. She turned to me with a curios gaze, "did you get her the aspirin?"

"Yes, I did. She's drinking some electrolytes and will be good to go shortly." I smiled setting down some silverware for them to grab. "Eat up."

"Bye Marie!"

"Bye Kiara! Please visit whenever you like and can!" My mother yelled as I reversed down the driveway. Kie getting bold and lifting a hand up to wave.

"Alright, hold on." I spoke to Kie before turning to my mother, "I'll be back in twenty minutes."

"Be careful." I grinned, slapping down my visor.

"I always am."

I shot off like a rocket just to spook my Ma a little, even if the move was overused- it still got her. Kie had become more comfortable with me driving her around on the bike, her arms acted less like a boa constrictor and more like a belt. I also noticed she looks around at her surroundings more instead of shutting her eyes and burying her face in my back.

As we were driving I heard a loud honking noise coming up behind us. Kie heard it too as she looked backwards while I spotted the vehicle in my mirror.

"What the hell?" I shouted over the wind to Kie as the large truck got closer.

"It's the fucking Kooks!" She shouts back, tightening her hold on me. "We need to go. They must be high or some shit." I highly doubt they'd be high this early in the morning.

I look around me. There was a line of people crossing to my right, a straight line drive through town in front of me, or a sketchy alleyway a few blocks up which may or may not have an exit.

"Kie, what are the odds you're alleyways here are blocked from through traffic?" I shouted as we got closer to having to make a choice.

"Slim to none. Unless it's a backyard with chain fencing- all alleyways are open." I grinned grasping onto the throttle.

"Hold on." I took off once her hands tightened around me. Her body desperately clinging on to keep herself from falling. When I sped up I heard hollering coming from the truck as it also sped up. "Motherfuckers." I hissed as I drove quicker.

"Welcome to Outer Banks, bitch!" I glared at the unwelcome shout.

I loosened up on the throttle just enough to make the turn smoother before shooting off down the alleyway a silent thank you on my lips as I saw the pathway free of any blockades.

"Suck my dick!" I spared enough time to flip them the bird and shout before I tore down the alleyway. Kie laughing slightly due to the shock factor and my comedy.

"To the Château?" I asked as we made it out to the other side.

"To the Château."

"I got to say, Xena. I'm really looking forward to this friendship." Kie said after several minutes of driving in silence.

"Yeah? Me too. We'll have to see what our schedules look like. I'll probably be swamped with school work but I'll make the time." I pulled into the Château where the boys were messing around with each other in the front yard.

"You should just keep the helmet." I told her, pushing the helmet back towards her when she got off. "It fits you and I drive you enough at the moment. Once you get that car I'll take it back."

"Deal. Then I'll be giving out the rides." We laughed before the boys ran up to us.

"You staying, T?" John B asked as they made it to us.

"Um, hi guys." Kie said waving her hand.

"Sup, Kie, so yeah, Xena, you staying?" JJ repeated.

"Hello everyone, no I'm not. Sorry about that. It's tradition. But I'll text and wish y'all a great first day tomorrow." I tried to compromise, it somewhat worked.

"What if we just kidnapped you?" Pope asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, wait a second-" JJ looked like he had an epiphany.

"Y'all are dumbasses." I said laughing a little. "Y'all go have fun. I'll catch you guys later, got to go to the Kook Academy." I gave a mocking wink before settling my helmet back on and beginning to walk backwards.

"Bye, Xena!" Kie waved.

"Have a good first day!" Pope shot me a thumbs up.

"Hope they aren't too annoying!" John B saluted me as I knocked my visor down.

"Go fuck shit up!" JJ shouted, throwing a few punches into the air like a dork.

I chuckled at their responses. Very fitting.

"I have to what?" I couldn't help the bite in my voice. It was either be angry or distraught.

"Honey, just until they can order you a pair of pants that fits." My mother reiterated the reason for my disgruntled state.

"There is no way that I will wear that damn skirt. It's terrible." I voiced as I glared down at the article of clothing.

"I'm sorry, but it's only until the pants come in. I'll order them as soon as we finish up here." The secretary was visibly worried. "This is the only compromise until then."

I stood there, the desire to be difficult was dwindling as I realized that I had to if I was going to be enrolled here. I sighed deeply, before stretching my arm out to the secretary.

"I'll manage. Thank you." I ground out as she set the pile of clothes into my hand.

I'll burn them later.
