A few days later, I was sitting in my room as (Y/N) was hanging upside down from the ceiling by his webs. I did some research on the spider that bit us, specifically the species that Dr. Morbius informed us about.
Gwen: Hey check this out. That Vampire Spider is apparently a type of jumping spider, so it doesn't really use it's webs that much.
Y/N: Yet here I am, hanging from your ceiling like I own the upside down world. I mean, check this out.
He kicks his shoes off and places his feet on the ceiling, walking around with no problem whatsoever.
Y/N: I love using my webs.
Gwen: Well it was a spier that was mixed with so many other breeds of spiders. I only know a few spiders that was in the genetic code. Anything else is classified. But, I think we get the just of it. Conners always had a thing for the DNA of animals.
He sits criss-crossed on the ceiling as I just looked back up at him.
Gwen: Are you really not bothered by this?
Y/N: No, why are you?
I smiled as I jumped up to the ceiling and sat criss-cross as well.
Gwen: Not in the slightest. Though I feel like we should be doing something you know?
Y/N: What do you mean?
Gwen: Think about it. We have powers that happened by pure freakishly lucky chance. Sure we could have been trained to be super spies or blessed with genius intellect to make high tech armor and weapons, but this. When we are like this, we are stronger, faster, our senses are super human, and. . . it just would feel like a waste if we didn't actually do something with all this power.
Y/N: What, you think with all this power we have a responsibility to do heroic actions with them?
Gwen: Well where else can we show off these abilities? We'd be seen as freaks at school.
Y/N: Gwen have you met us? We already have crossed the freak threshold once already.
Gwen: Yeah, but I don't feel like being locked away for having freakish abilities.
Y/N: OH right, we are kinda like. . . those mutants huh? Well fine, only because I know you might do it without me because "Oh look at me, I'm Gwen, my dads a cop so I feel obligated to have a savior comple-"
I shot web at his face to cover his mouth. Good to see these powers were multi purpose.
Gwen: If we do this, we're gonna need outfits. Masks obviously.
He rips the web from his mouth.
Y/N: If we have masks, I'm not wearing a full mask just to sweat in it and get all gross. You probably should since your hair would stick out like a sore thumb.
Gwen: Well, I say we do some field tests to better examine our skills. It's been a few days since we got bit, but we don't know the full extent of our powers yet.
(Y/N) let out a sigh as he just nods in understanding. I admit while it is a little nerdy of me, I have always liked super heroes. Now we have just what we need to help New York sleep a little bit safer at night. But before more could be said both of our senses went off as I heard footsteps outside my door.
Dad: Gwen. Everything alright in there?
Gwen: Shoot.
Y/N: Shit.
We both quickly leap down from the ceiling as I look to (Y/N) before he leaves through the window.
Gwen: Remember, field training.
