*Gwen's POV*

I assisted Dr. Conners with his formula for an agent that would assist in human regeneration. A project of his that he has been working on for some time now. Seeing how he was missing his right arm, I could only imagine how hard this was to do alone. Luckily he had me, even if I was a little distracted.

Conners: Ms. Stacy, can you hand me the third vile over there.

Gwen: . . .

Conners: Ms. Stacy?

Gwen: Hmm? Oh, right sorry.

Conners: You've had your head in the clouds for a time. Everything okay?

Gwen: Yeah, it's just. . . It's stupid.

Conners: Well it must be important if it's been bothering you for the past few days.

Gwen: It's just. . . There's this boy I like. I've been his best friend for a while now, and I really like him. But, it's weird because he likes someone else. I don't wanna force him to be with me, but I 've been beating around the bush for a while and I can't tell if he even get's my hints.

Conners: Hmm, relationship troubles. I can't say I fully understand, but from what I hear, you don't seem to want to confess because that may compromise the established friendship.

I let out a sigh as I hand him the vial.

Gwen: Yeah. You're right. I just. . . I wish it was easier.

Conners: Life isn't always meant to be easy. There's complications in everything we do, some things are easy, but the greater the reward, the more risk there will be. While a relationship is more of a mixed bag, since it isn't only your choice in that matter.

Gwen: *sigh* Now I feel even more worried.

Conners walks over and places a hand on my shoulder.

Conners: The way I see it you've got two paths. Be persistent and attack. Go all in despite the risks, or the path of least resistance. Just wait. Again, I apologize if my advice doesn't help, at the end it's up to you.

I let out a small laugh.

Gwen: Thank you Dr. Conners. . . Oh, by the way. Out of curiosity. What species were those spiders merged with?

*Meanwhile, With you*

You sit next to Dr. Kafka observing and going over her notes on the formula. She seemed so tired as you see her nodding in and out of consciousness. You felt sorry for her, with how invested she was in this project.

Y/N: Maybe you should take a break?

Kafka: N-No. I feel really close this ti-

*BANG*

The beaker she was mixing the chemicals in caused a small explosion as the glass shattered and she just stared at it with a very disappointed expression. She sighs as she pulls off her goggles and pulls down her face mask.

Kafka: Another failure.

She sighs as she sits back in her chair, the air was a lot more down as you looked at her. You went over the notes to wonder what could have gone wrong, but from hat you read everything seemed right.

Y/N: Dr. Kafka, do you need a minute? I can go get you something to drink?

She rolled her eyes looking back at you.

Kafka: Hmm? Oh, yes please that would be nice.

You nod as you make your way down the floors to what looked like the break room. Surprisingly seeing Harry there.
