Later on in the day, Gwen took the late shift of Spider work while you were out hanging with Kurt and Kitty, exploring the city, or so she thought that's what you were doing.
Gwen was currently helping some guys who were moving. They didn't have enough muscle to move come objects out of their house, like some desks and beds.
Guy: Hey, thanks Ghost. My brother was supposed to come help but he got stuck at work.
Ghost: No problem. It's the least I can do.
She helps move the final piece of furniture into their moving truck before swinging off to continue her patrol.
She goes down her check list, so far nothing going down too much.
Ghost: Hmm, the Shocker's been pretty quiet as of recently. Maybe he's busy trying to up his gear to match me and Nocturne. Hmmm.
As Gwen was in thought, here senses go off as an explosion rings in the distance. She rushes into action to investigate the trouble.
Ghost: Damn, maybe I spoke too soon. Hopefully I can do this on my own. I just hope (Y/N) can cover for me in the labs.
Meanwhile with you on the other side of the city. You were at Oscorp leaning against the wall, waiting for further instruction from Dr. Octavius. You were pretty glad to have met up with Kitty and Kurt. Having other mutants there made things feel a bit easier.
As you sat in your labcoat, your ears perked up as you feel someone behind you.
Octavius: Hello star child.
She says with a smile.
It was truly amazing ho similar some of us look across the multiverse, with some distinct differences coming from our DNA taking a different approach. It made you wonder how you looked in other realities. But, you focused your attention to Dr. Octavius.
Y/N: Hello Dr. Octavius. How are you doing today?
Octavius: I'm just lovely. I can't wait to start working with you. Not gonna lie, I was a bit envious when you chose Dr. Kafka over me initially.
You nervously scratch the back of your head.
Y/N: W-Well. I apologize. B-But on the bright side. Dr. Kafka wanted me as an assistant. And I'm sure she doesn't mind sharing me. I already have to assist Dr. Conners as well with his projects to help Gwen out.
Octavius: My, you're so thoughtful and hard working. By the way, why the mask and shade-
Y/N: ALLERGIES!!!. . . I'm. . . you know. Pollen in the air. I'd rather not sneeze and cause a chemical explosion.
Octavius: Oh. I see. Well then come along. I've been needing some assistance with my project. Gwen and other interns try to help. Now I feel like it needs a little touch from the star child that Dr. Kafka brags so much about.
