Landon P.O.V.:

"Gosh dang it, Mary, why couldn't you have just gone home?" I exclaimed. I yanked at my hair and glared at the tree in front of me.

"Landon, you okay?" Charlotte says as she places her hand on my shoulder.

I look at her and sigh, "Yeah just Mary didn't go home like I told her to and now she's roaming the woods."

"Well you kinda had to figure she would do something like this," she says shrugging her shoulders. I give her a perplexed look. "What she's a girl, she wasn't going to listen to you especially since she just found out that her friends are things from myths and that there is a battle that her sister is involved in. She's not just going to drop it."

Before I can respond something falls onto the ground in front of us. "Oh I'm so done with the ground. Maybe I can just get someone to fly me around. Can they even fly? I don't care," the person mumbles and just lays there for a minute before turning over onto their back. "Oh hi there," they say once they see us standing over them.

"Mary?" I ask. She looked up at me, blowing her hair out of her face. When she got a good look at who she was talking to she turned away. "I told you to go home and I told you to do it for a reason." She tried to ignore me by turning to Charlotte but I wasn't having it. I grabbed her by the arm and forced her to look at me. "Mary, this is serious. You just found out about all of this and it's too dangerous for you too stay here and fight when you don't even know what we're up against."

I watched as she glared at me and took deep breaths, probably to restrain herself from killing me. I saw Charlotte slip away out of the corner of my eye but I was too preoccupied to pay her any attention.

"You're right Landon, I did just find out about this, but only because everyone decided to keep me in the dark. This is my town too, and I'm going to protect it with everyone else who knows, then, later, after all of this is done we will sit down and discuss everything that has been going on. No more secrets." I narrowed my eyes at her but now wasn't the time to start a fight so I let it go. The knives that she had brought glinted in the sunlight and I sighed. It wasn't much to protect her and I was going to have to keep her close to avoid any injury coming towards her.

Finally, I nodded at her, warning her to stay close then proceed to to middle of the group. We waited only couple of minutes before Brooke warned us of hunters coming in our direction.

I readied myself for the fight, pushing Mary behind me just as the first wave of hunters rushed out of the trees and we surged forward to meet them.
