Brooklyn P.O.V:
An hour later we are situated in our rooms and setting the table for dinner. After we finished setting the table Charlotte calls to everyone that its time for dinner. Three seconds later a big wave of people are coming in. Not feeling really talkative I tell Josie and Charlotte that I was going to eat in my room. I grab a boat load of mash potatoes, green beans, and roast beef with gravy. After grabbing my food I walk up to my room. Closing the door I walk over to my bed and start playing music. I start singing to Learn Me Right by Birdy, when I hear a knock on the door. Sighing, I get up to open the door.
"Can't even eat in peace." I grumble under my breath. There's another knock on the door.
"I'm coming I'm coming." I say loudly. I throw open the door to find Asher standing in the hallway with a plate full of food looking a little nervous.
Asher's P.O.V:
"Uumm... I was wondering if I could eat with you?" I say a little nervously. Brooke looks a little surprised at this.
"Uhh. Sure," she says as she waves her hand for me to enter her room. I hear Back in Black by AC/DC coming from her phone. She listens to this kind of music?! I think surprised. No one listens to this kind of music our age anymore. I must of had a weird look on my face because she asks what's wrong.
"I didn't know you listen to classic rock." She shrugs.
"I listen to a lot of different music but usually stick to pop." I nod my head. She sits down on her bed and motions me to sit next to her. While walking over to sit next to her I noticed how tired and worn down she looks. These last few days have been stressful for the rest of us but it must really be bad for her and her sister. I decide to keep the conversation that we need to have for another time and talk about something else.
"Why does it always seem that whenever we eat dinner as a group you always disappear." Its more of a statement then a question but she still answers.
"Just haven't felt like talking?" By the end of the sentence, it sounds more like a question than an answer.
I sigh "What's going on Brooke? You've never been social but you've never disappeared like you do now. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's noticed either. I'm starting to worry."
"Ok umm I'm good so you can go now." Brooke says looking away.
I sigh "I'm not leaving Brooke. Not until you at least talk to me."
"Fine. There I talked."
"Brooke, why won't you just talk? Do you hate me or something?" I ask quietly. I thought soulmates were suppose to love each other not hate?
"I don't hate you I'm just a little depressed about somethings."
"Because you're afraid of rejection?" I ask.
"From who?"
"Your soulmate."
"Ha! He'd have to know first."
"He does." She looks at me in surprise.
"What!"
"He heard your whole conversation with Ty." She buries her head in her hands.
"Ah man."
"Are you going to tell me when you would have told me if I hadn't heard the conversation?" I ask.
"I don't know a few months, a year?"
"Why didn't you want to tell me?"
"Don't want to get rejected and you run off."
"Why would I reject you?" She shrugs her shoulders and looks away. I move towards her and wrap my arms around her.
"I would never reject you." I say as a place my chin on the top of her head.
