Chapter 22

Brooklyn's P.O.V:

Once the lesson with Ty is finished I see Josie and him talking. Instead of investigating I decide to order Chinese and hopefully afterward talk to Ty about what he read in my mind. Please not be what I think it is or I'm screwed. Royally screwed. The Chinese has arrived and I get Asher to help me since everyone else seemed to vanish into thin air. We are working quietly for a few minutes when Asher starts talking.

"Can I ask you a few questions?"

"Sure but I might not know the answer. Josie usually does things like this."

"Okay. What happens if your soulmate is human?"

"Usually you wait till you can trust them and you know they won't run once they find out. That's what Logan did with Jordi."

"What if the other person doesn't feel the same that you do?"

"Uhh. Why are you asking so many questions about soulmates?" He shrugs. "If the person doesn't feel the same they can I guess reject you sorta like the whole werewolf thing. They reject you and you don't have soulmate. It's kinda rare that a soulmate rejects the person. To be a soulmate they both have to have at least a small amount of the same feelings as the other person."

"So with Eli and Josie, they both have feeling towards each."

"Yes? I don't know its hard to explain. You might want to ask someone else about this."

"Ask what?" Josie says as she walks in with Ty.

"Soulmates."

"Oohh. Let's eat then I'll answer the rest of your questions." She says. Asher nods his head in understanding. "Food's here get your butts in here before we eat it all!!" yells Josie. We start laughing as we hear running, yelling, and then a crash. Aah man what did they break now. Everyone comes rushing in with Eli in the back of the pack and sits down. He smiles shyly at Josephine and hands her half a lamp.

"The other part is upstairs on the ground." He says looking a little embarrassed. I shake my head.

"Why is it always Eli? What do you guys do? Shove him into things? He's already clumsy."

"I am not!!"

"Honey, every time you're here you break something or cause yourself bodily harm. Last time I checked that means you're clumsy." He humphs.

"Whatever." He says as Josie starts passing out the food. I grab some food for Ty and I, walk up to him and say "Follow me. I want to talk to you."

We walk upstairs into my room and I set the food on the carpet. I sit across from him Indian style and stare for a little longer than necessary.

"Sooo are you going to say anything or should I just go back downstairs where I'm not stared at like a criminal?"

"What did you see?"

"Just how you're fighting against yourself about telling Asher how he's your soulmate. If I were you I would tell him."

"Yeah and have him reject me. I'd rather keep it a secret than that." I hear someone clear their throat at the door. We look up and standing in the doorway is the one and only Asher Holloway. Before we could say anything Landon comes rushing upstairs.

"Regina got away."

"Shit." I say scrambling up and running downstairs. Looks like that conversation will have to wait. Awesome.
