Chapter Sixty- Seven: Gryffindor Girls Dormitory

---

"I have a date," bursts the Gryffindor red head that seemed to talk a lot. Lily Evans was standing at the Hufflepuff table, smiling wildly at Greta and Cali as they nodded awkwardly.

"With James?" Daisy mused, probably just to get at the girl's skin as she pulled a disgusted face and pretended to gag at the thought of dating James Potter.

"No, not in a million years. I'll be seeing pigs fly before I say yes to a date with James Potter."

"Careful," Cali warned. "Don't let James hear you. He'd be the type to make it happen."

"Yes, yes. Anyways, no my date is with Amos Diggory." Cali looked up her table to see the Quidditch player hanging out with his friends, laughing when he noticed the girls staring at him and winked. He was nice enough, a Hufflepuff prefect in his fifth year at Hogwarts and turned down quite a lot of dates on the daily from what Greta had told her once before. "We're meeting for lunch, thank merlin. I didn't want to wake crazy early just to get ready," Lily informed the girls.

"Amos Diggory," Greta hummed. "Good taste, he's hot. Kind of surprised he'd go for a third year."

"Thank you," Lily giggled nervously. "Which brings me to why I'm here, I need Hufflepuff thoughts. I mean, he's a Hufflepuff so I need to make sure I look good to a Hufflepuff. Please come with me?" Lily begged the girls.

"Ok," Greta shrugged. "I need to get ready for my date with Davey Gudgeon anyways. We will get ready together."

"I'll come," Cali confirmed. "No date or anything though."

"Don't you need to get ready first?" Daisy asked curiously.

"I am?" Cali replied, clearly confused as she gestured to her sweat pants and a white top.

"It looks like pajamas," Greta informed the girl, and Cali shrugged in response.

"It's comfortable!" Cali defended herself.

"And that is why you don't have a date," Greta giggled as the two of them stood up.

"Daisy, are you coming?" Lily asked the final girl in the group who shook her head.

"Oh no, I have plans to study with a Ravenclaw in my year."

"Sounds good," Lily nodded. "Come along," she rushed the two girls. "I haven't even planned my outfit." The two of them followed Lily Evans all of the way to the Gryffindor tower where she somehow didn't stop talking even once during the entire walk. Most of it was her voicing her thoughts aloud about what outfit she could wear but since she'd randomly ask for input on what she was saying- the girls had to listen to the girl's rambling.

"Hi Girls," Lily greeted. "I'm sure you've all met Greta and Cali. They're Hufflepuffs in our year."

Cali recognized the three girls in the room solely due to have a few mutual classes together but had never otherwise spoken to them. Marlene McKinnon was a gorgeous freckled girl that was beyond leggy as she was the tallest of the group. Mary MacDonald had gorgeous hair with corkscrew curls and gorgeous eyebrows that Cali had always wished she had. The last was Alice Fortescue was a shorter girl compared to everybody else, standing at only about 5'4 which was still taller than Cali in heels and bangs that seemed to frame the girl's face perfectly. Cali had always thought she was really pretty.

"Hello," they all greeted as they turned back to the mirrors to get ready.

"My date is with Sirius Black," Marlene hummed to the group, a prideful smile gracing her lips as she regarded everyone. Cali quickly glanced at Greta who shrugged away her concerned looks as she took a corner mirror near Lily's desk and began to mimic the rest of the girls as Cali sat against a wall that gave her a good visual of the entire room. "He asked me out last week."

"I'm surprised you said yes," Mary commented as she added blush to her cheeks.

"Why is that?" Marlene laughed.

"He doesn't seem like your type is all," Mary shrugged. "I would expect you with someone more..." Mary trailed off, trying to think of the right words.

"Wanting to be chased?" Alice offered.

Mary pointed at her, "BINGO! Thank you Alice!"

"No problem," Alice mumbled, her cheeks brightening as she added some sort of foundation to a pimple on her forehead that was hidden by her bangs.

"Sirius Black is hot," Marlene shrugged. "I do like to be chased, but I mean come on. If Sirius Black asks you on a date, you're going to say yes."

"I would not," Alice disagreed shyly.

"Would not what?" Mary asked her.

"Say yes to Sirius, he's not really my type. A little too boisterous."

"I know who she would say yes too," Lily giggled. "He's in that dormitory too."

"Who?" Cali asked, surprised. "They are all a little loud."

"Except Remus," Marlene pointed out but Cali disagreed, remembering how loud he could be at times as Lily shook her head.

"Our little Alice does not like Remus Lupin. Oh no, she likes a certain Frank Longbottom," Lily teased as Alice's cheeks turned bright red.

"You weren't supposed to tell anyone!" Alice whined.

"Oh please," Marlene laughed. "You're so obvious about it."

"I am not," Alice shook her head defiantly.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Mary laughed. "Who were you hanging out with today again?"

Alice groaned, "Frank. But only as friends. He doesn't like me like that."

Marlene turned towards the Hufflepuff girls, looking at them inquisitvely. "And what about you two? Who are the two of you going on a date with?"

"Davey Gudgeon," Greta shrugged.

"He almost lost his eye to the Whomping Willow, didn't he?" Mary asked and Greta nodded.

"It was all because of those stupid idiots," Lily growled. "I swear to Merlin, if they ruin my date! They're lucky it wasn't my date they had cursed a few weeks ago."

"Oh right, that was your date, wasn't it?" Marlene asked Cali who nodded. "Merlin, that sounded horrible. Sorry you had such a loser for a date. Came at a good time, I would have said yes to his date otherwise."

"Well then, who are you going on a date with today?" Mary asked.

"Nobody," Cali giggled. "I'm really not that interested in dating."

"Is that true?" Marlene asked, "I've seen you with Regulus Black quite a few times."

"The Slytherin?" Mary asked, surprised.

"I am not dating Regulus," Cali shrugged. "He's just my best friend, outside of Greta."
