The Kind Hufflepuff - First YearChapter Four: Hogwarts Express
---"You better mail him," Cali threatened him as they moved towards the compartment, trying to decide where they would sit.
"Who?"
"Reg."
"Oh," He mumbled before shrugging. "It'll be fine."
"Sirius."
"What?""Mail him." The boy didn't respond as he opened the compartment door to see a boy sporting a pair of glasses and incredibly messy hair while on the other side sat a young girl with red hair who was covering her face as she faced towards her apparent friend, a boy with stringy black hair.
"Hey," Cali mumbled, choosing to greet the group as she smiled sweetly. "I'm Calista and this is my friend, Sirius. May we sit with you?" The boy with glasses nodded happily while the other two said nothing, not bothering to greet the pair as they entered the compartment.
"Potter, James Potter," The boy with hazel eyes greeted and Cali nodded, having recognized the name for the hair product that her father liked to use for work and giggled at the thought of him not using it.
Sirius had sat beside James as Cali chose to sit beside the other two and took the time to examine the pair. The girl's face was flushed and realized the girl had been crying, noticing the fact that the girl's face had clear tear stains and felt bad for her original criticism. Meanwhile, her friend appeared to be attempting to comfort her, allowing her to hug him as he rubbed her back. Cali frowned, wanting to try and comfort the girl but recognizing that it wasn't her place and turned to James.
She glanced towards the two boys in the compartment who had been engaged in a conversation right off the bat and decided to interject, "So James," She began, biting her lip as she tried to think of something to talk about. "Did you hear about Royston Idlewind?" She asked curiously, thinking of the article that she had seen in the Daily Prophet that morning.
"The International Director of the I.C.W.Q.C?" James asked, recognizing the name as he furrowed his eyebrows in thought. "What about him?"
"Apparently he said the only thing he dislikes about Quidditch are the crowds," Sirius interrupted, having heard Regulus complain to their mother about such a statement. "Regulus had been rather heated about the whole thing, claiming that it was complete rubbish for anybody to hate the crowds. He only says that though because he likes the attention father gives him," Sirius noted, shrugging after a moment as James frowned.
"Who could ever hate the crowds of Quidditch?" With this, she noted that the boy had snorted upon hearing this and that the pair had separated from each other, seeming to listen to the conversation though the girl seemed rather confused.
"I'm Calista Higgs, and you are?" Cali decided to introduce herself, holding out her hand to the young girl and sending a friendly smile towards the boy, trying to let him know that she wasn't actively trying to ignore him and was merely interested in cheering up the red head.
"Lily, I'm sorry about earlier. I should have been more polite," Lily whispered softly, her voice was still hoarse from the crying as Cali went through her bag and handed her a piece of chocolate.
"Here, it's chocolate. Figured it might help you feel better," The girl explained, handing the girl the entire bar as Lily broke out into a large smile.
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it." Feeling satisfied now that the previously crying girl was smiling as she ate the chocolate bar, her brown eyes moved towards the boy and met his dark brown eyes. They appeared almost black in this lighting which briefly unnerved it, finding it odd that she had no idea where his pupils were, "And you are?"
