The Kind Hufflepuff - First Year
Chapter Twenty- Four: End of First Year
---
Cali sat back in her seat on the Hogwarts Express, smiling widely at the rest of the Hufflepuff trio as they sat down as well. "First year is really over," Cali breathed as Bas jumped into her lap and went to sleep.
"I know," Greta muttered.
"What do you think second year will be like?" John questioned.
"I hope it's happier," Cali muttered.
"You really have gone through the wringer," Greta nodded.
"Has John spoken to you since you put the babbling curse on him?" John asked curiously.
"No, not even during class."
With that, they were surprised when their compartment door opened to reveal the four Gryffindor boys. "Hey guys," Remus greeted cheerfully as the rest piled in while laughing, sitting around the trio. "I hope it's alright that we sit with you."
"No, it's fine. I'd like to get off the train with Sirius anyways," Cali shrugged.
"Why's that?" Peter questioned.
"Oh, I want to say hello to Regulus," Cali shrugged.
"Who?" Remus questioned.
"My brother," Sirius muttered, any sign of a smile completely gone.
"I think second year will definitely be happier," Greta announced, referring back to John's question from previous. "I think it will be filled with laughter and happiness and I think it will be one of the best years of our entire life."
"I'm sorry?" James questioned.
"I asked what everyone thought would happen next year," John explained.
"Oh, well that's obvious," Sirius laughed.
"How do you figure?" Remus asked.
"Well, we will plan and execute way more pranks. We will wreak havoc. James and I are going to join the Quidditch team forcing all of you guys to come and support us," Sirius explained.
"We're going to crush the Ravenclaws unlike this year," James added. He had been completely enraged during the feast in the Great Hall when it was revealed that Ravenclaw had won both the Quidditch Cup and the House Cup.
"Yeah we will!" Sirius cheered, fist bumping the boy.
"I'm going to ask out Evans," James shrugged.
"The red head?" Peter questioned.
"Yeah, she's kinda cute. Don't you think?" James questioned.
"Her taste in friends is kind of iffy," Sirius replied.
"She seems nice," Cali replied cheerfully.
"She is, isn't she?" James asked, smiling blissfully.
"Are any of you planning on joining Quidditch next year?" Remus asked curiously.
"Not really my style," Greta replied.
"Nope."
"Nada."
"At least that means we won't be competitors," Sirius shrugged.
"Except I'm totally rooting for Hufflepuff," John countered.
"As am I," Greta added.
The ride continued like this for another hour or so until Bertie interrupted the group, smiling widely as he greeted his little sister. "Hey, I scored a compartment for the two of us. Can we go talk for a minute?"
