A/N: I am so sorry for such a long wait. I got insanely distracted by school for a little while there and then I had so many other things that I had been prioritizing over this story but I promise you that will change until the new school year starts.

The Kind Hufflepuff - First Ye
Chapter Twenty- Two: Babbling Curse
---
When March came around, it was no surprise that the boys had reached peak crackhead energy. The entire month appeared to be a celebration in the eyes of the four boys, especially since two of the four boys shared their birthdays in the same month.
On Remus' birthday, the great hall held more chocolate than Cali had ever seen in a room. It seemed as though the boys had convinced the House Elves to make as much chocolate as humanly possible that day and during dinner, the entire Slytherin table came privy to their drinks magically becoming hot chocolate and then exploding in their faces.
Cali had thought it to be rather suspicious when she saw that Bertie and his friends did not come under the same attack and had tried to bring it up to the boys but was ultimately ignored. This was not the only attack against the Slytherin's following the boys and Bertie finding out about what had happened to Cali. One night, the entire table erupted into boils and after a particularly weird event where it appeared a Slytherin pranked every single male of their house by dying their hair pink, it appeared to be dubbed as "Prank the Slytherins" month which Cali found to be absolutely delightful.
While many of the pranksters were never caught: the Slytherin's hair had been dyed into essentially the entire rainbow, their skin had been stained purple, their food never seemed to stop exploding in their faces, and there were constantly things being charmed to biting the students. Though, it was no secret that the pranks seemed to be centered around a first year Slytherin by the name of Gregory Wilkes.
Many found the situation to be rather, having expected one of the older students to be receiving the harshest pranks due to their generally unkind demeanor compared to a first year. But those that knew Cali figured that her brother had something to do with the situation, including the boy in question. Every single class that shared with him during that month, something about him had drastically changed to the point that nobody even questioned his appearance anymore.
"I know this is your fault," He had growled into the girl's ear one day during class, causing the girl to flinch from his proximity. "You're going to pay," He added, a small smirk on his face as he returned to his own side of the desk. Cali watched him for a moment as he picked up his quill, keeping his eyes zeroed in on the board as he took notes for the class.
Cali ultimately chose not to say anything about the small threat, figuring that he wouldn't have the guts to do anything to her considering everybody had returned to keep a close eye on the girl. The boys now all surrounded her during their shared lessons, John and Greta did their best to be right by her side the second class was over and had her stay by their seats until the professor asked her to sit down, and Cali was fairly sure that Bertie had threatened the boy pretty thoroughly.
One Monday night during dinner, Greta had decided to go do her homework early since she was running behind even though school was starting to Cali had decided to stay at the feast, wanting to see what was left that the boys had planned in celebration. She didn't even notice when Wilkes had gotten up just after Greta stood up and left.
It wasn't until she had gotten back to the common room that she found out that something happened as the prefect escorted her to the hospital wing to check on her best friend along with John. "What happened?" Cali asked as the Prefect refused to answer the girl's question.
