A/N: The video above is something that a YouTube channel by the name of "Bells" created for Regulus and Sirius Black and I'm honestly so supportive of this video. I might be posting a lot of these as time goes on because these are my favorite thing ever. I know the video is a bit early for the feels but it's coming. I promise.

The Kind Hufflepuff - First Year
Chapter Three: Kings Cross Station
---
Calista Higgs sat on her bed, looking around the room that she had cherished for the last eleven years. The walls were a pale yellow color and the floor around her was of a white wood that she didn't recognize the name of. Her king bed was pressed against one wall, covered in stuffed animals and the cover was of the same color as her walls though her blanket was covered in Nifflers.
The other wall held a built in bookcase, using the same kind of wood for her floors making it look like the floors had simply gone up the wall which held every single magical creature and muggle creature book that she had gotten her hands on- ranging from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them all the way to Encyclopedia of Dog Breeds. Her walls were covered in photographs and drawings of various creatures that Cali had been given the opportunity to witness first hand and her closet door stood beside the vanity that her mother had gifted her when she began experimenting in her mother's makeup. On the wall where the door lead to the rest of the house, sat a new box that her mother had given her to hold all of her kitten's toys and in the far corner stood a magical cat house that morphed into her kitten's desires as needed. Currently, it was several floors high that wrapped around the entire room and gave the kitten access to the bed which Cali had woken up on multiple nights to find the small creature sleeping beside her.
The cat in question was currently rubbing her back under the hand of the absent- minded girl, forcing the child into petting her as she purred. Sat on her bed were various trunks of items that Cali had never even worn, as her mother had fretted that if she took anything from her room then she would simply forget them when it was time to return home. Her head snapped up when she heard a knock on the door and called out, "Come in."
"Hey Cali," Bertie greeted as he opened the door, keeping an eye on the small cat that ignored him. "Are you excited about going to Hogwarts?"
"It's something that you've been hyping up for years, I'm excited to begin learning. And for the friends but I'm going to miss mother and father," Cali admitted quietly, keeping her gaze on the small kitten who was now curling into her side as Bertie sat on the bed beside her.
"You'll love it, I'm sure."
"I'm worried," Cali finally whispered once she felt as though Bertie wasn't going to say anything else. Bertie didn't reply immediately, sending her a look with his eyebrows raised as though he was waiting for her to continue as she sighed deeply. "You're a Slytherin and we both know that I won't be. I don't want to stop talking to you."
Bertie burst into laughter, shaking his head as he swung his arm around the girl and pulled her in closer, causing the kitten who was about to fall asleep to be squeezed between the two sibling's thighs and wiggled out, glaring at Bertie before moving to the other side of her. "Don't laugh at me," Cali mumbled under her breath.
"You're an idiot, Cal."
"How so?"
"You're my sister, sorry Cal but you're stick with me. I'm your older brother and I'm always going to be there for you, whether it's hiding the fact that you fell in love with a mudblood or sneaking a niffler into your room," Bertie explained to her as she giggled. "You have no reason to be scared and you can sit with me in the Great Hall whenever you want and if a big bad Slytherin tries to stop you then you let me know so that I can have a talk with him, okay?" The small girl nodded, smiling brightly at her brother as she calmed.
