Chapter Two: Ollivanders

"Cali!" Bertie shouted, pounding on the oak door causing her to groan and throw a spare pillow at her door before throwing the blanket over her head. "Cali, come on! Get up! We're going to Diagon Alley today!" He shouted once more, pounding on the door again.
Upon hearing this, her eyes shot open as she remembered that Sirius was meeting them at their home soon and began hurriedly getting ready. "CALI." The frustration in her brother's voice was clear.
She opened the door, the sound of her giggles reaching her brother first before she said, "I'm awake." Her smile was bright, and her demeanor was chirpy, reflecting her typical self that her brother often thought of as sunshine.
"Finish getting ready, Sirius will be here soon." Then he turned away abruptly and began to walk away before adding, "And brush your hair!" Cali immediately ran towards her dresser, looking into the mirror to see that her hair was sticking up from everywhere due to the hairspray from the night before after a messy attempt of removing the thousands of bobby pins before throwing herself into bed. She brushed her hair out, laughing softly when she found a bobby pin that tugged on her hair when the brush hit it.
Then she quickly threw on a pair of dark denim frayed jeans and a tie dye t- shirt before grabbing her rainbow poncho and walking down the stairs. "What are you wearing?" Her mother snickered as her father gave her an odd look.
"It's muggle fashion," Calista replied, ignoring how her mother had tensed up.
"Black should be here soon," she finally muttered.
"Which Black?" Ardel interrupted. "I've heard good things from the younger one but from what Orion tells me, their eldest is nothing but trouble. Constantly disobeying their every order and completely disrespectful." Calista noticed both Ethel and Bertie's eyebrows knitted together, not having known about the relationship dynamic between Sirius and his family.
"It's Sirius," Calista mumbled while she examined her shoes.
"The eldest? Are you sure this a good idea, Calista? I don't want you to be influenced by such a child." Ardel's voice seemed almost like a warning, trying to prompt his child to change her mind about hanging out with the eldest Black child. The entire Higgs household kept an eye on the youngest sibling, trying to gauge her reaction.
"Um, hello?" A fifth voice enveloped the room, cutting the tension as Calista released a breath, a smile spreading across her face as she raced through the house to the living room where the fireplace was.
"Sirius!" The young girl squealed, causing the Higgs family to exchange glances. They had always known that the youngest daughter was kind, always giving people a chance and refusing to judge people for anything. She had never truly commented on her beliefs when it came to muggles or muggleborns, but they all could guess what her opinions were. "Let her have this," Ethel finally muttered to her husband. "Don't take away her first friend, we will lose her."
The warning seemed to calm her husband, nodding stiffly. "I'm going to work. Go to Diagon without me. Perhaps she will be a good influence on him," he muttered softly before immediately disappearing.
"Where did dad just go?" Calista asked, causing the two remaining family members to jump from shock, glancing at the girl who was clutching Sirius' hand. The young boy looked rather nervous, probably having heard what Ardel had said.
"He had to go to work, honey." Her voice seemed comforting, a soft smile on her face before offering her arm out to the three children. "Now come on. We need plenty of time to retrieve your needs. Sirius, dear. Do you have everything you need?
