The Void

You walk around in the darkness, your tattoos your only source of light. Your steps echo around you as you begin to search for something, unsure what yet. The farther you walk the more noise you begin to hear, laughing, crying, shouting, giggles. The noise begins to grow around you as colorful orbs begin to pop up, seemingly out of nowhere. A smaller, more playful version of your skull wolf begins to run up to you, wagging her tail and barking happily. You kneel down, a smile splitting your face as you scoop the little pup into your arms.

The little wolf licks at your face, making you giggle until you set the small thing back on the blackened ground. The little wolf sprints off, barking for you to follow. You do and soon come across a beautiful purple orb, the sound of laughter and child giggles faintly sounding. The pup spins in a circle before jumping into the orb, you reluctantly follow, plunging into the purple orb.

Darkness...

Laughter...

Light...

You sit up in a field of fresh green grass, the cool wind blowing around you sending a small shiver down your spine. You stand and look over yourself. Your hair was in a small poof ball and you were wearing a button up blouse and trousers. You hear the pup barking and laughter sounding, following the sound you come across some children playing with floating animals. They glowed a gentle gold as they danced around the children, sparkles raining down on them.

Nearby you hear laughter and see a woman sitting in the grass, creating the small animals. You stalk a little closer and get a good look at the person. It was Misty. Wait MISTY?! You gently get up and walk up to her, before you could call out, the pup ran up to you, barking all the way. Misty looked at where the noise was coming from and when her eyes met yours they widened. But she didn't look calm, or at ease to see you, she looked scared. True fear danced in her eyes as she quickly stood up and walked up to you.

Her messy white hair flowed around her shoulders as her tan dress flowed in the wind. She grabbed your shoulders and looked into your eyes before speaking.

"Y/N? You aren't supposed to be here! You can't be here!" she panicked

"Misty get a hold of yourself. What's wrong?" you questioned, her panicked state worrying you

She only shook her head.

"Y/N, it's too dangerous to be here! Y-you just can't! Please get out of here while you still can!"

She gently pushed you back away from her. She wrapped her arms tightly around herself and backed away from you. You were about to reach out to her when you suddenly felt the ground beneath you shake. The child laughter soon became creepy as the sky turned red, the clouds blackening. The pup leaned against you and whimpered, you turned to Misty. You jump in fear upon seeing her.

Her lips had contorted into a smile and her eyes had widened. Her irises han expanded until there was no white showing in her eyes. They had also turned into a golden color, similar to an owl's. Her black pupils shrink until they are only small dots. Her smile was twisted and unnerving, her eyes only held fear, no, pure terror. She began to cackle loudly, sending shivers down your spine.

"You should have ran!" she shouted, her voice filled with an unworldly venom, "I told you to-to run didn't I?! I told you to get awayyyy!"

Her laughter continued to seemingly no end. You suddenly felt wind behind you. You looked to see a white orb behind you. The pup sprinted to it and so did you. The crazed Misty gave chase, you could hear the sound of wings as you jumped into the portal, bright blinding light engulfing your vision.

Light...

Silence...

Darkness...

You open your eyes and immediately sit up, the darkness a slightly welcoming sight. You sat up and held your head. Your hand reached for the pup to see if she was nearby, and thankfully she was right next to you, your hand brushed against her fur and she leaned closer to you.

"W-what was that?" you questioned, your voice only a horse whisper.

You wanted to wake up already, but your body wouldn't let you. You stood up and began to walk again, your wolf following you closely.

"Hello again." a small voice called out

You recognize that voice. You turned around to see little Eva standing behind you, her face beaming. You try to smile back, fear still grips your mind with an iron fist, but upon seeing the child, you relax a bit.

"Hello again Eva." you mutter back

The little girl skips up to you, her black hair bouncing behind her. She wraps her arms around your legs and hugs you, you return the much needed embrace.

"Did Momma Misty scare you?" she asked quietly

You flinch at her name, the scene from before flashing into your mind.

"She didn't mean to scare you." the child muttered, "She wasn't in control."

You only nod and stroke Eva's hair. What did she mean by not being in control? You knew that Misty was a witch, but you now realize you didn't really know what it was like to be a witch. What kind of horrors has Misty seen and gone through? Eva was right in a sense though. Misty's eyes held nothing but fear, fear of what she would do to you.

Eva releases herself from the hug and grabs your hand, leading you somewhere else in the field of darkness and glowing orbs. The pup followed behind, making sure to keep an eye out for Misty's orb.

"Eva, where are we going?" you ask

She stopped and looked at you. Her icy blue eyes looked into your emerald green ones as she clutched your hand a little tighter.

"Mama's having a bad dream about her past. I think you should see it. So you can understand my mommy better." the child answered, her voice small and timid

'She must mean Miranda.' you think to yourself

You hesitated before sighing and answering with a quiet okay. Eventually you make it to an icy blue orb, shadows dancing around it, threatening to stuff out the light. The gravity grew stronger the closer you walked to it, slowly pulling you in. Eva stopped you both, far enough so that you weren't being sucked in, but close enough to still feel the pull.

"I'm going to warn you...you're going to see this from mommy's eyes. So you can understand better." the child muttered

You hesitated for a second before slowly nodding. Eva gave a small smile before guiding you into the nightmare.

Darkness...

Wind...

Screaming...

Your wings cut through the air as you plummet down back to the earth below. Misty was falling, her beautiful white wings wrapping around her body, one misshapen and bleeding. She couldn't fly. She was out of energy. She was falling. Your wings flapped violently, sending the blackened feathers swearing in the wind. You reached out your hand, inches away from Misty's. The clouds soon were a distant memory as the trees below came into view. You were running out of time. You couldn't go any faster. Misty looked you in the eyes. Those beautiful purple eyes. You couldn't hear anything. The rushing wind was silent. You could see Misty's lips move, but no sound came out. You could still somehow make out what she was saying.

"I love you..."

Branches snapping...

Crying...

Sobbing...

Silence...

Darkness...
