"Laundry duty is the worst". Paul scoffed as Mateo, Paul, Marjan and I stood outside the rigs folding the station's laundry.
"How does one house create so much of it anyway?" Marjan questioned.
"We make a lot of messes". Mateo answered.
"The real question is, how can I carry 70 pounds of PPE on my back all day long no problem, yet ten minutes of folding undershirts, and my shoulders are in knots?" I scoffed.
"It's cause your technique sucks". Mateo commented making me look at him.
"You're employing a variation of the traditional chest fold. Inefficient with inconsistent creases, and that's why your stacks are lumpy bumpy". He added and I scoffed.
"My stacks aren't lumpy bumpy" I defended.
"They're a little lumpy bumpy, babe". Marjan agreed making me look down at my pile of folded clothes.
"You see mine? Nice and tight. The secret is the pinch fold". Mateo stated showing me his pile.
"Trust me, it'll change your life". He added and I rolled my eyes.
"That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard." I mumbled just as Mateo folded a shirt and it came out perfectly.
"Voila". He smiled and I looked down at it.
"What sorcery is this?" I stated looking back at him.
"And that is why I stick to doing the laundry at home". Marjan smiled making Mateo and Paul chuckle.
Suddenly an RV pulled into the station making Marjan look at it confused.
"What the hell?" She commented as it stopped in the rigs parking space.
"Hey!" She yelled.
"What are you doing?" I yelled as we stared at the RV confused as it backed up into the station.
"What the--". Mateo mumbled following after us.
"Hey, hey!" Marjan yelled.
"Hey, can't park here!" Paul yelled.
"Hey!" Mateo yelled jogging towards the RV.
"Hey, hey, stop!" He yelled waving his arms around for the person to see.
Paul and Marjan went over to move the supply unit out the way before the reckless driver bumped it.
"Stop!" Mateo yelled banging on the Rv's window causing the driver to turn off the RV.
"Ma'am, you cannot park here". I told the woman as Marjan and I approached Mateo when she opened the door.
"Why not? It's empty, isn't it?" She questioned getting out making me look at her as if she were crazy.
"I told you we should've parked on the street, Mama". A much younger woman spoke hopping out of the passenger seat.
"Mama?" Paul called in surprise as he approached us and we turned to look at him.
"Baby boy!" Paul's mom smiled and I looked at Marjan who was smiling widely.
"What are y'all doing here?" Paul beamed walking up to his mother and hugged her tightly.
"We wanted to surprise you!" She chuckled.
"Well, mission accomplished". He smiled pulling away from the hug and I crossed my arms and smiled at their interaction.
"Mateo, Marjan, Cassie, this is my mom and my sister". Paul beamed looking over at us making us smile at the two women.
"Nice to meet you". Marjan smiled.
