"All right, hey, Gallagher, Ricardo, get over there and give first aid to them till medical gets here". My brother yelled over the loud flames of the burning building when we arrived on scene.
"Marwani, let's get that two and a half hooked up." He added as I approached his side.
"What the hell you doing here?" Judd questioned when I nudged him and pointed to Owen who approached us wearing a black Hoodie.
"I was in the area". He answered slightly out of breath.
"Talk about Johnny on the spot". I mumbled as Paul walked passed with a confused look on his face.
"Look, we're dealing with arson. I saw signs of accelerant in there, so be careful". Owen warned.
"Okay, why don't you go get checked out by the med?" Judd reasoned.
"No, no, no, no. I'm good". He assured before walking over to the rest of the crew by the truck.
"All right, fire began in the northwest corner, so let's concentrate on that wall. Paul, Mateo, get that ladder and get ready to ventilate." Owen started barking orders making me look at Judd confused.
"Sure thing, Cap". Mateo nodded before giving Paul a look making Judd pull Owen aside.
"Cap, you got to get out of the street tonight, okay? You're not captain tonight, you're a Civilian, okay?" Judd commented making Owen nod.
"You got to go, Owen, you got to go". He stated when Owen still hadn't moved.
"All right, you're right, you're right, Captain. It's your scene". He mumbled before turning to leave.
"126, give 'em hell". He called over his shoulder and I gave Judd a look before walking away from him and doing what I was told.
"Hey, babe, you're home early". I commented when Marjan walked through the front door of our home making her sigh before flopping down on the couch beside me.
"The other opposing team wouldn't let us compete unless I was kicked off the team, so I left to save them the trouble". She groaned.
"What the hell for?" I scoffed looking at her.
"That stupid viral video that's been going around". She answered making me sigh.
"This sucks!" She whined.
"That is totally unfair and I'm pretty sure against roller derby rules too". I scoffed.
"Actually its not". She sighed.
"I just wish this would be over already". She commented.
"Soon enough it will. Something else will go viral eventually and people will be talking about that instead". I assured her.
"I want it to be over now". She groaned making me sigh.
"I could always post that video of Mateo eating out of Buttercup's dog bowl on all fours if you want. That way everyone will be talking about him and not you". I shrugged making her laugh.
"Thanks, but I'd rather not let our friend be blasted on the internet for sharing a romantic moment with the only source of close contact he's probably ever gonna get". She smiled.
"At least I made you smile". I chuckled.
"You always make me smile". She commented before leaning in to kiss me softly.
"We're having dinner over at Tommy's tonight, also Judd and Grace are planning to take Jasmine off our hands for the night so you and I could spend some time together" I smiled pulling back making her sigh.
