April Mariana's POV
It had been weeks since my birthday Weeks and weeks and me and Alfie hadn't talked about... us We were due to go to the opera in a few months He had agreed to take me. To the winter show
It had always mesmerised me. The snow outside, the show inside The dresses and the singing The power in their voices and how elegant they sounded.

"Thank you, for coming round" Aila said, smiling "It's tea" I said simply, shrugging I wasn't exactly giving her the world.
"Still. Thank you" she said I did want to forgive her. I know deep down she had a good heart And I know someone like her would have listened to Alfie back then
She was naive and lacked any will to say no to Alfie.
But I also wanted information from her Information I wasn't sure she would free up And yet the selfish dark part of me hoped that maybe her guilt would make her talk "Aila" I said "What do you know about your uncle? Charles" I asked
"Charles?" She said surprised "What... why do you want to know about him?" She asked "He called me" I said
"What for?" She asked, worry all over her face "I don't know. Alfie doesn't seem keen on us meeting" I said
She shifted in her seat "Aila" I warned, her brows furrowed, before she put her tea down. "Charles is... aggressive. Impulsive, he... he has all of Alfie's intelligence but he lacks any willpower to keep himself... stable" she explained
"So he's mad?" I asked boredly Many men were Hell, Arthur was
Many spread that I was... am
"No. No he's just... rough. I just don't think he would have anything good to bring to you" she said And I saw the sincerity in her eyes.
