Not the best start to the new year.

Last night the doctor had come into my room, as Katie and Ruesha were asleep, to talk to me about the plan going forward. I was out of football for two weeks. Two whole weeks.

Katie hasn't left my side once. Ruesha has but only because she needed to go home and get some things that Katie might have needed; however, I couldn't sleep. I didn't have my pink blanket.

It was around 10pm and even though I was excruciatingly tired, my eyes couldn't close. I stayed awake just watching the small tv that was placed upon the wall, until Katie woke up soon after.

"Why aren't you asleep?" she asked, visibly tired herself. "I can't." was all I could say before Ruesha woke up. "Oh my gosh. Rue can you stay here with her I forgot to ask you to get something from home." she said, before sprinting out of the room.

She had returned around 20 minutes later with my pink blanket and a teddy bear. "Who's is this?" I asked quietly while grabbing the soft bear as Katie placed my blanket on top of me, immediately settling me. "It used to be mine when I was a kid, it kept my safe, I want you to feel like that too." she spoke before walking away and sitting back down. I fell asleep straight away.

I woke up this morning to see Katie gone, but Ruesha sat on her phone. "Where's Katie?" I asked quietly. Rue looked up and walked over to me, sitting on my bed, and explaining that they had a team bonding today, but she wasn't staying long, just going to tell the girls that I wouldn't be there.

I got out of bed immediately, trying to stand up, which was unsuccessful. "Rue please take me to team bonding I can't not go." I pleaded. "No Lauren, you can go next time. You get discharged today." Do I? When was that said? It must have been when I was asleep. I tried to get comfortable and lay down but soon after, Katie had arrived back.

I was discharged at 3:30pm. I grabbed my crutches which I was told I had to use and walked to Katie's car.

We got home at around 4:00pm after stopping at McDonalds for tea. I didn't eat it and Katie noticed. "Lauren, I know you don't feel well but you have to eat. Please." I took one bite of the cheeseburger she had bought me and immediately felt bad. I hobbled over to the downstairs bathroom and began being sick. I stayed in there for a good 20 minutes until Katie came knocking. I didn't want her to see me like this, but I unlocked the door slowly.

She picked me up in her arms, as I was unable to move, and carried me upstairs to her bedroom. This was the first night I had actually spent in her house.

I fell asleep at around 10, with Katie asleep on the floor next to me. I don't know why she didn't just kick me out of her bed to be honest, or at least get in it? I would've been fine. I think she might've been just looking out for me. She had wrapped my pink blanket in my arms and told me everything was okay before we both drifted to sleep.

The 'first day'.

Nothing exciting happened yesterday. We sat downstairs for the most part just watching movies. I found out Ruesha has a weird obsession with musicals, but Katie hates them. Me and Ruesha will get along absolutely perfectly. Musicals are the shit.
