the next morning.
Today we were going to be discharged from the hospital. Both of our families had already come to visit, and we had to share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our son. It's been so hard, but the love and compassion from our family has helped. I need to focus on Isabella and Mateo, and Pablo and I being healthy and okay. Obviously it will take some time, which is understandable.Since he was stillborn, we have to go through the process of the funeral and memorial service. I don't have the heart to think of it now, so we'll have to plan it this afternoon.
"Here is the certificate, we just need to confirm the name so we can register it" The nurse walks in with the certificate which was supposed to be for our son. We nod as she hands us over the form.
We had it planned before the birth, so we already had the perfect name picked out, one we both liked. Pablo grabs a pen and begins writing:
Marco Paez Casillas
I loved the name, tears began to form as we stared at the paper. He was named after Pablo's idol growing up, and I thought it was perfect. We hand the nurse the paper back and she walks away.
"I'm sorry Pablo. I tried my best, I-"
"Amor, it's not your fault. Please stop blaming yourself. We're going to get past this. We'll be okay" he says to me while wiping my tears and hugging me. We take a moment to reflect and calm ourselves down before we have to head out.Mateo had stayed with my mother last night, which was so helpful. It was late, and I did not want to bother Pedro since I knew he must have been tired from the match.

"Ready to head out?" Pablo asks. I nod as I stand up. He takes the car seat in his hand, and holds my hand with the other. We walk out of the room, and out toward the exit. We try to hurry, and where our hoodies to hopefully avoid anyone seeing us. We haven't made a statement yet on what happened, and don't want people to ask yet.
As we drive off toward the house, I realize I had forgotten about the move and all of that. With everything going on, i hadn't even realized we had our new home ready.
We arrive at home, and to my surprise my mothers car was already in the driveway. We walk out into the driveway, and my mother is sitting outside playing with Mateo in the yard.
"There they are" she smiles, getting up.
She pulls me into a hug, comforting me. She walks over to Pablo, and hugs him as well. I can tell that he needed the hug, and appreciates it.
"Hola mami" Mateo smiles as he runs over and kisses my cheek.
"Mi amor, i missed you" I say.
He immediately runs over to see Isabella in her car seat. He sits beside her and smiles."He's been talking nonstop about her" my mother tells us as we all watch Mateo and Isabella.
We hear a knock at the gate, and Pablo walks over to check who it is. He smiles before opening the door. Pedro walks in with a gift in hand. They hug each other before heading over toward us.
"Papa!" Mateo yells.
"Shh" we laugh, hoping he won't wake Isabella.
"I heard what happened. I'm so sorry, I'm here for you all, whatever you need" Pedro says to me as he pulls me into a hug.
"Gracias Pedro" i wipe my tears away.
"Papa, look at Isabella, my sister" Mateo whispers. Pedro walks over and the two of them sit by the car seat.
"She looks just like the two of you" Pedro smiles and looks over at us.
"Beautiful, just like her mom" Pablo smiles. I lean on his shoulder, taking it all in.
