chapter 7

The next day.
Delaney POV
I got up quickly because my dad was hosting his team dinner here. I got up to go work out so I could be ready ahead of time. I grabbed my gym clothes and went for a run.

After returning, I went right into the shower and chose an outfit for the day. It was a pool party, so I had to dress for the occasion.
I put on my bikini and then just put a long oversized dress shirt on top and added a baseball hat.
I walked over to my siblings room to get them up and ready.

"Morning Martin" I said turning his light on and opening his curtains to let some light in. I went over and gave him a hug. He went over to brush his teeth while I picked his outfit for him. I helped him put on his swim shorts and just put a plain tshirt on, since he would be taking it off later anyways.
We walked over to Lucas's room, and saw he was awake already.
"Hola mi amor" I said kissing his cheek. He smiled and I got him out to take his overnight diaper off. He was still potty training.
I gave him a similar outfit as Martin and put Crocs on both of them. We walked downstairs to meet my parents.

My dad was on the phone still in his pjs, and my mom was getting some of the decorations up. I put Lucas down and served the boys both cereal and fruit for breakfast.
I helped my mom finish with the decorations so she could go get ready.
My dad finally got off the phone and went to get dressed as well. We told everyone they could start coming around 1 or 2pm and it was already 11:30 by the time we were all changed and had eaten breakfast. The pool cleaning man was finishing up getting the pool ready.

I went to my room to grab my phone and take a quick picture for instagram.

I walked back downstairs when suddenly the doorbell rang.
Douglas was out back so I went to check who it was. Gavi
I opened the door and smiled. "Hey you" I said going in for a hug
"Hey, sorry I'm early. And oh wow you look amazing" he blushed
"Thanks, not too bad yourself" I smirked
I let him come inside and he went to greet the rest of my family.
We walked out to the backyard where the party was going to be. We sat on edge of the pool and joked around and talked. It was incredible how close we were becoming. He was like my new best friend.

"So weird question, but I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page." Gavi began saying
"I just wanted to make sure you were okay with us being just friends, at least for now." He continues
I nodded and smiled, "yeah of course"
"Good, I mean don't get me wrong you're very attractive and any guy would be lucky to be with you, you've been amazing so far, but I just want to have fun and I've been meeting a lot of people, if you know what I mean" he said blushing
"Yeah yeah we all know you're a player" I rolled my eyes jokingly
"No but for real, just wanted to make sure because Pedri swears there's no way we only can be friends" he shook his head
"Oh, weird" i shrugged
"What's weird?"
"Nothing lol"
"Omg no way. You like Pedri!" Gavi shouted
"Shut up!" I said covering his mouth
"Omg that's so cute. That would be amazing if you guys-"
"No don't tell him, I've heard the way he talks in interviews and all that. He doesn't want to be in a relationship right now. And I don't think he sees me that way" I responded
"Hmm we'll suit yourself" he shrugged

A few minutes had gone by and soon everyone had begun to arrive. We were all in the backyard having a good time. Some were playing futbol, others just talking, or swimming. We were all getting to know each other better. There were so many of us that I couldn't keep track of who was here and who wasn't. I got up and got close to the pool to see if it wasn't too cold, when suddenly I heard someone yell, "watch out!" Before I could turn around I was pushed into the water . Before i could come up for air I felt someone's arms around me helping me come up.

"Gavi be nicer to the princesa" pedri said
I blushed, "thank you. He's an ass" I said rolling my eyes.
"He's still a kid" we both laughed
"Sorry I didn't notice you come in" I said we were still very close to each other. We hadn't realized his arms were still around me.
"Oh I'm sorry" he said and moved his arms away
"I was going to say hi but I saw you were busy. It's hard to not see you in any room" Pedri said looking down
"You're too sweet" I said and we both smiled.

"Nani watch this!" I heard and turned to look
Martin was jumping into the pool and into my arms
"Hey buddy" I said kissing his cheek
"Pedri, this is Martin. My younger brother" I said as I held Martin in my arms
"Nice to meet you buddy, that was a very cool trick" he smiled
"Thanks Pedri, also my sister lik -" I covered his mouth before he could finish.
"Okay buddy it's time to go somewhere else now" I smiled and sat him back on the edge as he ran away laughing
Pedri and I stayed in the pool talking and getting to know each other too, but it wasn't like when Gavi and I talked. I was still very shy around Pedri and got nervous.

"Time for a mini scrimmage, who wants to join?" My dad yelled as he grabbed a ball and walked over to the field
"I'm gonna go play, I'll see you around" Pedri said swimming away. And getting out of the pool
I got out too but walked over to find my towel to dry up a bit. I sat back on the bench to watch the guys play.

The guys were in the middle of the game. Jordi passed the ball to Pedri, Pedri continued to run towards the goal when suddenly he was slide tackled!
"Sorry, are you okay?" Dani said running to Pedri
He had taken a hard fall and fell and busted his lip and his nose was bleeding a bit.
"Delaney, could you get Pedri some thing to clean up his face!" My dad yelled so I could hear
I nodded as Pedri walked over.
I took him inside and led him to the bathroom upstairs.
"Here, let me help you" I said as I stood in front of him, I was on my tip toes trying to reach his face.
He lifted me up and placed me on the sink.
"There, now you can reach" he laughed and I smiled
I cleaned up his nose bleed with some gauze, and wiped his lips.
I couldn't help but stare at them, and my breathing got heavier as we stood close to each other.
He cleared his throat, "Thanks for your help, princesa" he smiled kissing my cheek
"Anytime" I said messing his hair up. He helped me off the edge of the sink and we walked back downstairs and outside.
He laid back on one the beach chairs and I grabbed him some water.

Soon after the rest of the guys came over to dry up so we could eat dinner.
"So did you kiss him?" Gavi said nudging me
"Gavi stop" I giggled
"Well you did take long" he replied taking a seat
"No we didn't" I rolled my eyes
"Mhmm if you say so"
Our plates were already served so we all sat down to eat. Lucas walked over to me and sat in my lap. He smiled and waved at Pedri, who was across from me.

"Thank you everyone for coming. I hope you all had as much fun as I did. And you are all welcome anytime. My family and I all had a great time. Hopefully these memories and times together will help us feel more united and help us perform better" My dad said as he held up his glass.

"Cheers" We all replied 

We finished up dinner and everyone started to get ready to head out. 

"Thanks again for cleaning me up earlier" Pedri said walking over to me

"Yeah, it was no problem" I smiled. I got up to give him a hug.

"I'll see you around then?" He asked

"Yeah of course." I smiled

"Heyyy guys" Gavi said interrupting and putting his arms around both of us

"What do you want weirdo" I laughed

"I just came to ask my best friend for a ride" Gavi said looking at Pedri

Pedri laughed and nodded.

"Let's go then. It's past your bedtime" 

"Bye Nani" Gavi said hugging me

I said goodbye to everyone else as they headed out.
