Chapter-51

Author's POV

Rose looked at her reflection in the mirror, and a bitter smile appeared on her lips. The woman in the mirror looked so beautiful.

Her silky brown hairs were pulled up into a loose bun, with a few strands kissing her cheeks. The pearl necklace adorned her slender neck, giving her an ethereal look.

The vine red velvet gown looked gorgeous on her.

" You are looking gorgeous ma'am.." Kate, the woman who dressed her up complimented with a full smile.

Rose smiled back at her.

Indeed she was looking gorgeous.

" Thanks" she mumbled softly.

Looking at herself in the mirror she inhaled sharply.

She was at a loss for words to convey her uneasiness. She was worried about her future. She will soon be engaged to Chase Hunter Griffin- The Don of Northern States.

She would have happily jumped at the chance to flee if she had been given the opportunity. Poor girl had no choice other than to say yes. She has to put on a brave facade and act like everything is okay! That's what he warned her a few hours ago.

" I want you to be on your best behaviour" He had warned, tracing his fingers along her facial lines. She had to force a nod having no choice.

" Ma'am...it's time!" Anila's faint voice brought her out of the trance.

She looked at Anila and nodded.

" You are looking so beautiful Ma'am" Anila exclaimed, widening her eyes in admiration.

Rose smiled, a small smile.

" Thanks, Anila" Rose said, lowly.

Anila led the way for Rose. As soon as the door opened, she saw Denise standing in front of the door, dressed in a grey tuxedo. He extended his hands for Rose.
She looked at him for a brief minute before placing her hands in his.

Denise walked her down the stairs. Rose was awe-struck by the decorations. Along the stairways, bouquets of white Roses were placed. The mansion looked so elegant.

Phoebe excitedly waved her hands at Rose. She passed her a warm smile before looking towards the crowd of people.

Many men and women were holding a glass of champagne, talking and discussing among themselves.

She was worried looking at the huge crowd. Her hold on Denise increased.

" It'll be fine...!" Denise said, squeezing her hands. Rose nodded slowly looking at him.
