Chapter-57

Author's POV

The clouds were gathered in the sky... turning the perfect blue sky into the darkest shade of grey.

The sky looked like a canvas of grey clouds stretching across the horizon.

The air was cool and the wind blew gently, the trees swayed gracefully, giving a sense of a soothing atmosphere.

The pitter-patter sounds of the raindrops sounded like a symphony of delicate music. The droplets hitting the windows and the rooftop created a rhythm of soothing music. The rain was gentle. It wasn't pouring. It was raining.

As the raindrops fell on the window, hitting the glass with a delicate melody... created a blurry line between reality and the imaginary world.

It's the beauty of Rainy weather. It created different feelings, and different emotions for different beings. It brought out the range of emotions in people's lives.

He, enjoyed the rain, feeling happy at the arrival of his lady love into his life. Although she disliked him as of now, he knew....she would like him by the time he was done with his revenge.

On the other side of the country...
it was a different feeling entirely.
It looked like even the skies were crying at his pathetic situation.

As for her....., she always liked rainy weather. Sitting on the window sill, she was lost in the world of sorrow. She watched the rain through the blurry window. It reflected her current situation. She had no idea where she was, why everything was happening and how to escape all this chaos. Everything was blurry.

She looked serene watching the rain. Her face leaned closer to the window as if she wanted to feel the rain. Her skin touched the window and she closed her eyes feeling the raindrops hitting the other side of the window.

The delicate pitter-patter sound of the rain blocked the noises of her chaotic world. The world outside disappeared for a brief moment. She forgot all her worries. Breathing in the heavenly scent of the mud, she opened her eyes.

Her baby blue eyes reflected in the window. They were misty now.

She blinked her eyes and looked at the heavy raindrops falling violently.

She noticed how hard it was pouring already. Long gone was the gentle rain. She thought that even nature sympathized with her situation.

Her life was happy before she turned eighteen. She never shed a single tear until he came, creating havoc in her beautiful life.

He destroyed everything. He destroyed her happiness. He crumbled her dignity under his foot, abusing her daily, controlling her life according to his wish and will.

She thought she could never escape this monster. But somehow, she escaped him.

And for years everything went back to normal.

And then came Chase.

He hurt her in the name of love. He threatened to kill her loved ones. He even humiliated her. He was the updated version of her past abuser. He forced his way on her. He controlled her life too. He even threatened to kill her family if she didn't agree to their engagement.

A painful lump formed in her throat as the painful memories of Chase hurting her flashed in her mind.

Although he controlled her, she couldn't deny the fact that he loved her.

He loved her. Nevertheless, he loved her.

She felt secure in the arms of her tormentor. It's the irony of her life. She thought the ordeal was over as Chase tried to change his ruthless behaviour....but!
