Chapter-87

Author's POV

The weather seemed unusually dark for an afternoon. The atmosphere was filled with thick tension and hostility.

The meeting was supposed to start a few minutes ago but Donovan wasn't present yet.

Men dressed up in all black were standing at every foot, their senses on alert watching every movement of the surroundings.

The rooftop was filled with a unique energy reflecting the weight of animosity.

His blue eyes impatiently wandered towards the door. He was waiting for his archenemy.

Donovan took his sweet time to reach the central mall. No commoners were allowed anywhere near the mall. The whole of Northern States was blocked. People were hiding in fear. They knew if these two men met, the blood bath wouldn't stop.

They didn't want to die.

Chase's men were waiting at the airport but Donovan chose roadways. His men made sure everything was clear before Donovan entered the mall.

His impatiently wandering blue eyes stopped when he noticed Donovan, walking through the door, like a fucking king.

He was a fucking king.

Donovan was dressed up in all black while Chase was wearing a grey tuxedo.

Donovan walked towards Chase, who was sitting on the black leather chair in front of the wooden table. Leon and Felix followed him, along with his men.

Now the rooftop was filled with bulky armed men, from both sides.

Donovan didn't remove his sunglasses, he pulled the chair and sat in front of Chase, crossing his legs.

The atmosphere oozed danger.

Chase didn't hide his disdain for Donovan. His facial expressions changed, he was looking at him with pure hatred.

But Donovan looked completely oblivious to his hatred. His face was calm, only if one had seen his raging green orbs.

Donovan continued to look at Chase, his face unfazed. His eyes screaming dominance. Their eyes locked for a brief moment before Denise cleared his throat.

They were here to talk. Not to battle for looking-in-the-eye competition!

" Long time Frontin...I thought you went into hiding after that accident" Chase said, his voice dripping with mockery.

Donovan leaned back in his chair, removed the sunglasses and slowly placed it on the table.

As soon as the men looked at his dark green eyes, fear covered their features. To them, the weather felt hot although they were standing in an open space, at the rooftop of the mall.

" Well, here I am...fit and fine..." Donovan spoke after a long silence. His lips formed into a small smirk, his eyes daring him to provoke him further.

They looked exactly like two psychos who escaped from the asylum.

Chase expected him to lash out at the mention of the accident but nothing like that happened.

If it was four years ago, Donovan would have blessed him with a hard punch across his cheeks, but not now.

He has changed into a sadistic beast now.

" Let's not beat around the bush Chase...what is it...I heard that you were frantically looking for me?" Donovan spoke, after another brief silence. His voice hinted at mischief.
