Chapter-96

Author's POV

Donovan pointed his gun at the man who was kneeling in front of him. He looked terrified. His bloody face told the horrendous story of the pain and suffering he went through at the hands of Donovan.

" I'm so sorry Don. I will never do it again" the wounded man begged, crying for mercy.

He only chuckled. A dark chuckle it was.

" Do what Rony?" He asked, arching his perfect brows at him. His smirk never left his lips as he looked at Rony with a blank face.

" I shouldn't have betrayed you. It is my mistake Don. I'm sorry I won't repeat it" Rony begged crying.

Donovan's smirk turned evil.

Rony was one of his men working under him in the legal business. Donovan was working on a project with Nessa and Co.

Leon was handling the project. But then, Donovan's return to the Southern States made Leon busy with other work. So Donovan asked Leon to assign someone else to look after that project and that's how Rony was appointed as the project head.

The problem is, that Rony was stealing huge sum of money from the profit and was selling illegal shares to competing companies. Felix caught him in the act and that's how he ended up in Frontin's basement.

Money wasn't a problem. But stealing is. If he had asked for money, Donovan would have paid him dearly. But stealing and selling the stocks and shares, no no, he won't forgive it.

" I will make sure you won't repeat it," He said, passing him a small smile that sent shivers down his spine.

He looked terrifying when he smiled.

Rony looked here and there trying to find something or someone to convince him. He looked at Leon, who was watching him with a blank face. He tried to push his luck one more time.

" Please sir...ask him to give me one chance..." Rony begged, looking at Leon, who rolled his eyes and looked aside.

He saw someone watching them with widened eyes. Standing afar, her blue eyes were fixed on the trio.

" She is looking at you" Leon whispered, looking at Rose.

Donovan nodded, slowly turning towards her. Their eyes locked. She was looking at him with widened eyes. Her eyes were glistening. Donovan noticed tears glistening in her eyes. He knew why she had tears in them.

It's because she didn't want him to kill people. She hated violence. She didn't want him to be ruthless. Her heart desired him although it was hurt by him.

He couldn't help but grit his teeth as she pleaded him with her eyes. Before she could affect him even more, he pulled the trigger, his eyes still locked with hers.

Tears slid down her eyes as she flinched at the continuous loud gunshots. She couldn't stand there anymore. Rony's painful cries made her stomach twist. She wanted to run.

Her knees felt weak she looked at his blank eyes. He didn't even blink for once as he shot Rony again and again without even breaking eye contact with her.

Her lips quivered as he looked at her with a blank face. As if he didn't kill someone right now.

She shook her head at him, and his hold on the gun tightened as she sniffed her tears back and turned aside, running from there.
