Chapter-97

Author's POV

For two days, she thought about her plan. She decided to escape. Not the place, but him.

She wanted to escape from him.

Last two days, she thought about it a lot. She really loves him there is no doubt about that. But she cannot stay here. His violent and ruthless nature was really bothering her.

Her heart screamed at her to look at his gentle side. Although Rose asked him to leave her alone, for the past four to five days, he stayed in her room, bringing her Chocolates and ice cream. Giving her a gentle soothing massage. He did whatever he felt was right.

Rose was touched by his behaviour. But at the same time, they didn't talk anything after Donovan shot Rony.

It's been two days since Rony died and Donovan stopped going to her room because he overheard her conversation with Leon.

He knew, that if she saw him, she would definitely bring up that topic and it would end up in another heated argument.

He didn't want to hurt her anymore. He knew that he already hurt her and it was killing him from inside.

He was avoiding face-to-face confrontation with her. He was afraid that she would ask him to let her go. He didn't want that.

Leon talked to him about her wish to leave this place and it was bothering him. What irked him more was, that Leon asked him to let her go. To say, he was furious would be an understatement. He was one inch away from hitting Leon but he didn't. He stopped.

" Why did you stop? Hit me! After all, you love hitting your loved ones!" Leon had lashed out at him two days back. Donovan was taken aback by his words.

" When did you stoop so low? You hit her! She is afraid, Don. She is terrified. She doesn't deserve this!" Leon's words were sharp and he knew, they were true.

" If you were not my best friend,
I would have really helped her to leave this place!! " These were the last words he said to him that day and ever since that, both of them have stopped talking.

Leon was hurt. So was Donovan but he didn't know what to do.

After she witnessed Rony's death, her urge to escape him only increased. For the past two days, Leon has been keeping her company. They talked about random things and Leon cracked dirty lame jokes to make her happy.

Two days ago she noticed that Leon drives his own car and nobody checks it. Something flashed in her mind and she thought about it for a whole night.

When Leon left the mansion, she stood in front of the huge gate and stared at his car for a very long time.

Donovan had told her that his men wouldn't stop her if she decided to leave but she had to face the consequences later.

Donovan saw her staring at the gate. He knew she was battling the urge to open that damn gate and leave.

When she walked back, he heaved a sigh of relief.

She had noticed the pattern now. Leon parks the car in the garage, which is near the backyard, goes to Donovan's study and then comes to her room. Before leaving, he goes to his study and then leaves the mansion.

She calculated the time. He takes at least five to ten minutes before he reaches his car. If she runs from the second floor, she can reach the backyard within six to seven minutes. So, she decided to give it a shot.
