by the time calum finds where violet is, it's been at least thirty minutes. the roads aren't bright enough and violet ended up sitting down next to wall with her knees pulled to her chest as she rocked back and fourth to keep herself both calm and warm.

she sees the familiar car pull up at the side of the road, the door opening quickly with the engine still running. calum rushes over to her, holding out his hand.

"come on," he smiles softly. "let's get you out of here."

she takes his hand, walking over to his car. he helps her into the passenger side, quickly getting back inside to start driving them to his place.

violet sits quietly, tear stained cheeks, eyes still slightly watery. she doesn't say a word to him. at least, not until they reach his house.

"is anyone here?" she asks before leaving the car, calum shakes his head.

she gets out with him, walking up to his doorway. he leads her inside and over to his living room, allowing her to sit down on one of the couches. once he sits down over from her, she notices he's wearing what look like sleep clothes.

"were you in bed?" she questions. he looks confused. "you're wearing—"

"oh, yea, i was," he chuckles. "i wasn't sleeping, so don't worry."

she nods, going quiet again.

"do you want a drink?" calum stands up. "something to eat?"

"just water will be okay," she says. "i'm not hungry."

he nods, standing up and walking to the kitchen. he takes a glass, filling it with water to bring back to violet. once he reaches her, he passes it to her. watching as she takes a few small sips.

"sorry i made you come and get me when it's so late." violet sighs. "your number was first on my list so i just called and—"

"violet, it's fine," he reassuringly smiles at her. "what's going on? did something happen?"

"um, ash and i had an argument," she starts, tucking her hair behind her ears. "it's my fault, i've been so hard to deal with and i think i made him mad and he just— he shouted at me."

"he shouted at you?" calum asks, frowning.

"yea, he did," violet places her water down, fiddling with the sleeves of ashton's hoodie that she's wearing. "maybe if i could just deal with my emotions normally he wouldn't have shouted."

"don't blame yourself," calum shakes his head, getting up to sit next to violet. "i'm sure however you're dealing with things is okay, and it especially doesn't give him the right to shout at you."

"i told him i basically don't trust him," she slouches in her seat. "that's why he shouted."

"he couldn't have talked things out with you?" calum raises his eyebrows. "this is the guy who watched you have a panic attack over me and mike shouting, he shouldn't have shouted at you."

she shakes her head, knowing calum's right. ashton knows full well shouting causes her to panic, he saw it. so why would he shout? he did it without thinking.

"what exactly happened in ohio?" calum questions. "ashton briefly mentioned that you saw your ex but didn't really elaborate."

"ash didn't mention the fact he hit him?"

"he what!?" calum almost couldn't believe it. "ashton? as in our ashton? ashton irwin? he punched someone?"

"my ex was being a fucking ass to me at the wedding and ashton wanted to shut him up," violet explains. "so he punched him."
