you'd think mutual feelings would be the easiest way around falling for a friend.

however, having a bad past relationship doesn't help the issue. violet specifically, doesn't know how to deal with these feelings. she knows ashton is a great guy, but the fear of being used and lied to is in the back of her mind.

ashton, on the other hand, has experienced similar. not being very successful in past relationships. but, he wants this. he wants to be with violet. she's making it all the more difficult for him to speak to her about it. not responding to his texts about meeting up and ignoring his calls.

which is why his friends made a plan. one violet may not be too happy with.

sitting in a quiet little coffee shop, cup of coffee in front of her. violet has a pen in her hand, figuring out how to write her feelings down into her diary. figuring that maybe if she writes things down, it'll help her figure out what she wants to do.

managing to write a few lines, consisting of how she feels about ashton, what she likes about ashton as well as her worries about what a relationship could hold, she stops writing. her phone lighting up on the table.
luke's name popping up, she isn't surprised.

"hey luke," she answers, trying to sound cheerful. "how are you?"

"i was gonna ask you the same question," he pauses. "could we change to facetime? feels better doing that than just a call."

violet's fine with that, quickly changing over. the screen connecting, showing luke along with michael and calum too. she sighs, now knowing what this call is really about.

"don't look at us like that," luke shakes his head. "we're just checking up on you, seeing as we haven't heard a word from you since the party."

"i'm fine," she tells them, not very convincing. "it's only been a couple days."

"it's been five days." michael corrects. "it's gonna be december next week."

"ah, the christmas season, my favourite." the sarcasm in her voice is very clear.

calum takes hold of luke's phone, wanting to be closer to talk, "look, violet," he takes a breath before talking. "we're worried about you, ashton's worried because you haven't been talking to him."

"and there it is." she chuckles.

pushing her phone against the wall so she doesn't have to hold it anymore. she looks away from the screen, back down to her diary.

"are you seriously willing to lose a friendship over this?" he asks, this is the most serious he's been before. "cause that's the direction you're headed, mate."

"alright, cal, take it easy." michael grabs the phone, thinking he's being a little harsh on her. "what he's trying to say, is that you should talk to him. he's not gonna stop being friends with you even if you do have feelings for him."

"how do you know that?" she folds her arms. "i like him, being friends never works out when it's not mutual."

"how do you know it's not mutual when you haven't talked to him about it?" michael tries reasoning with her. she shakes her head. "come on, you trust us right?"

"yea, i do."

"then trust us when we say you should talk to him."

luke takes the phone from michael after he finishes speaking. he gives a sympathetic smile, knowing this is hard for her, and that she truly doesn't know how things will go down.

"why don't i come and talk to you?" luke suggests.

"i've been writing things down, i don't think talking will help."
