today is the day violet will be meeting ashton's three friends. she had tried her hardest to mentally prepare herself for it, however, nothing would calm her mind. through the week, she endlessly sat on her texts with ashton, contemplating cancelling, deciding not to in worry he'd be annoyed at her for doing so.
today is another day like those. it's an hour until ashton would be here to pick her up, and still, she sat on his contact, wondering whether to make up a reason to not go. she didn't have the guts to do it.
instead, she gets up, shuffling through her wardrobe, deciding on wearing her black miniskirt with tights and a white cropped shirt which sits on the waistline of the skirt. it's her cutest outfit, so, she thought.. why not.
after dressing herself, she puts on light make up. consisting of concealer, blush and mascara. she brushes through her hair, leaving it as it is, flowing gracefully down her shoulders.
before she knew it, the time came around for ashton to be arriving. she picks up her small bag, placing her purse inside. she makes her way to the living room to wait for ashton to get here.
she turns her phone on, finding her aunts contact to send a quick text, letting her know she'll be leaving for dinner soon.
violet:
hey! going out to dinner with ashton and his friends soon :)
auntie lisa:
have a good time honey. remember everything will be okay! if anything goes wrong, send me a text and i'll come pick you up.
violet:
thank you! love you lots
she places her phone into her bag just as there's a knock on her door. quickly before opening it, she slips on her semi heeled black boots to go with her outfit. plus to give her some hight.
violet swings the door open slowly to see ashton standing back slightly. she smiles and he copies the expression.
"you look great, violet." ashton does a subtle once over of her outfit. he couldn't help but compliment her.
"oh." violet's cheeks flush a light red shade. "thank you, uh, i wasn't sure what to wear. i thought this would be a kinda smart look but not overly smart, you know? it's not too smart is it? maybe i shouldn't wear the boots— sorry, um, i'm not great with compliments.. i'll be quiet now."
she looks down at her feet, wishing she hadn't spoken at all. a small thank you would've sufficed.
"it's perfect," ashton softly says. "don't worry about your outfit, it sorta matches mine."
violet glances up, seeing ashton has a white shirt on with black jeans and black boots. unintentionally matching already? she laughs along with him having not realised until he mentioned it.
"come on," ashton urges her out of the apartment. "let's go have a nice dinner."
she nods, locking her door before following ashton along the hall to the elevators. they head down to the bottom floor, going outside to where ashton had parked his car.
as he did before, he holds open the door for violet, closing it gently once she's seated. he quickly gets into the drivers side, buckling his belt.
the drive begins peacefully. violet looking outside at her surroundings, passing endless palm trees and new buildings she still hasn't seen before. she enjoys the new sights, never getting enough of california.
