horse riding. or as some call it, horse back riding.
something violet and rose used to do together quite often at their friend's stables. violet hasn't been here for quite a while, neither has rose since she'd been working out of state.
it was one of their favourite things to do together as children, the one time violet could get away from their parents and enjoy time outside without being yelled at for god knows what.
a childhood friend of rose's, danielle, now runs the stables. her parents used to own it, until they decided danielle was old enough to do things herself.
she's done the place up, re-built one of the run down sections of the stables, brought in horses from other areas that needed better places to live. it's an incredible place.
standing in the parking area for the stables, there are a few other cars, seeing a few people out on horses from where they're all waiting.
violet is standing with ashton, brown cowgirl boots on, a pair of leggings she knew would be more comfortable, a shirt she doesn't mind getting messy and a brown leather vest jacket with thin frilly bits hanging around the arms and the back.
ashton has black cowboy boots on, black jeans, a button up shirt with sparkles, black leather jacket with frilly bits too, a bandana around his neck, and finally, a black cowboy hat.
"you know you can't wear that right?" rose asks as she locks her car.
"huh?" ashton turns to her.
"you've gotta wear a helmet," she reminds him. "safety first."
he sighs in annoyance, having wanted to wear the hat while riding one of the horses. violet chuckles at his reaction, grabbing it from his head to place it back in rose's car for now.
"okay, is everyone ready?" rose asks, glancing around at everyone. they nod at her. "perfect, follow me."
rose leads the way further into the stables, opening the gate for everyone to walk inside. she knows danielle is around here somewhere, most likely in the office or out with one of the horses.
"okay, so this is most likely the horses we'll be taking out today," she says, pointing along a long wall of stables. "this used to be my regular horse, pegasus."
rose smiles, petting pegasus' face. now a little too old and small for her to ride on, "this is peanut butter," she introduces the next horse. "and jelly is next door."
"they're cute," calum is first to walk up. "can i?"
"go for it," rose urges.
calum leans against the door, getting peanut butter, a light brown coloured horse, to come over. he does, allowing calum to pet the side of his neck. michael goes over to jelly, doing the same, both seeming to be getting on pretty well.
violet looks further down the row, seeing a few familiar names, "little joe is still here?" she asks, rose nods her head.
"little joe?" luke chuckles. "looks more like a big joe."
he walks to the stall petting that large horse who is a lot taller than violet. he's normally ridden by anyone who's taller.
"you think i could go with jelly today?" michael asks, already getting to like this horse.
"i don't see why not," rose smiles, hoping to find danielle first...
right on time, they hear footsteps from around the corner, none other than danielle herself.
