"see was that so bad?" lisa asks violet as they walk out of the doctors office.
she almost glares at her aunt, "yes. it was so bad." violet folds her arms. "why can't they just take it that i want them for bad cramps, i hate all the sex related questions it's so awkward."
"well, at least you've got the pills now," lisa reminds violet, pointing to the packet of birth control pills in her hand. "this way you won't have to deal with pain, and you can stay safe at the same time."
"aunt lisa!" violet lightly hits her shoulder.
she had to deal with talking to her doctor about sex, she doesn't need her aunt doing the same.
"what?!" violet rolls her eyes at lisa. "don't look at me like that! you might meet someone, or do something here. it's better to be safe than sorry, violet."
"right." she clears her throat, climbing into the passenger side of her aunts car.
"anyway, it's nice seeing you being more independent now, sweetie." lisa smiles at violet, this really is what she'd wanted, moving here to be more independent. "you saw a doctor by yourself, you have your own car now, which i hope to see you drive sometime soon."
"i will," violet chuckles. "just trying to get used to driving a different car."
lisa nods and then they begin the drive back to where the store and apartments are. as they're driving, violet gets her phone out, seeing she has a text from ashton. she smiles to herself, always happy to get messages from him.
ashton:
hey! are you doing anything tonight?
violet:
probably spending some quality time with myself!
ashton:
that's a no then
me and the guys are having a movie night at my place, if you wanted to come?
violet:
i'd love to! what time should i come over?
ashton:
around 7? if that's good with you?
violet:
perfect!
do you want me to bring any snacks? or are you guys gonna handle that?
ashton:
i've got it, don't worry
what's your favourite ice cream flavour?
and salty or sweet popcorn?
or both?
violet:
favourite ice cream is cookie dough or mint chip and i like sweet popcorn :)
ashton:
okay great, thank you!
oh do you like pepperoni pizza?
violet:
yea, that'll be great!
ashton:
perfect, i'll see you later!
"what're you smiling about?" lisa glances over to violet once they stop at a red light.
"ashton invited me over for a movie night with the guys," violet explains. "you know, i'm glad you introduced us, it's nice having him around."
"i'm glad you feel that way, hopefully he can be a more permanent friend, unlike sophia." she widens her eyes at violet who agrees. "make sure you have fun tonight, and don't worry about what to wear."
violet shakes her head, "you know i always worry, i don't wanna look too casual."
"it's a movie night, it's meant to be casual."
