When there was a knock on the door Thalia got nervous. She couldn't help it. What if she got the same vibe from these people like she did with Ajax. If she did she would be screwed. There was no way Maxius was the only trustworthy one in the group right? Please let them be good people. Please let them be good people. She chanted to herself.
She guessed Thyme and Tryx sensed her change in mood and flew over and perched on her shoulders. They each put an arm behind her neck like they were holding her. And how sweet was that.
"Thank you." Thalia Whispered.
"You're the welcome the Thalia." Tryx said.
"Yea the welcome. But they are the good people. Cassara and the Vander are the good." Thyme said.
When a pair walked in she was shocked. The woman was one of the prettiest women she had ever seen. She had crimson colored hair with uptilted green eyes. She had pale pale skin. She was curvy and short. So pretty. She was so Pretty. The man on the other hand was tall. He wasn't as tall as Maxius but he was big. He had blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Thalia, this is Cassara and Vander. They are two of my best friends. Cassara, Vander this is my Thalia. She has been with me for almost two weeks. You guys already know Thyme and Tryx." Maxius introduced everyone.
Then he walked over to Thalia and put his arm around the waste. After that he kissed her on the top of her head.
"It is a pleasure to meet you."
So far her fight or flight hadn't kicked in so that was a good thing. So far she felt safe. That was a blessing she was glad. She still needed to talk to him about Ajax though. He was the number one problem in her mind. But maybe he was right and it was just because he was a shifter. Maybe she should just meet him again. Just to make sure her reader wasn't off.
"So nice to meet you too. We have heard so much about you. Maxius has done nothing but talk about you. He also told us about what is going on. We are so sorry you are going through all of this. This is no way to live." Vander said.
"It is ok. I have been handling it pretty well. At least I think I have. I do have some trust issues though when it comes to other people."
These people seemed genuinely nice. She could get used to having them around. Thalia looked even harder inside herself to see if she felt any sort of warning and she didn't have one. The feeling was amazing. She was glad she could trust these people.
Maxius was glad she wasn't having a melt down like before. She really didn't have a melt down more like she was standoffish the first time she met Ajax. Maybe the second time would be better. She was handling it pretty well. Plus she wasn't wielding a bat this time. He had to smile thinking about that day. He still needed to talk to Ajax about that. He needed to talk to her about it also. She had to be feeling some type of way to act like that. They just hadn't had much time to talk about it yet. Plus Ajax was supposed to be here today too. He needed to tell her once he got the chance. At least now she would have Tryx and Thyme. Cassara and Vander too.
"Let's all go and take a seat." Maxius said.
They all went to the living room. There was another chair and couch in there now. The coffee table was still the only table in there though.
After they all sat down Tryx and Thyme stayed where they were perched on Thalia shoulders. They were acting like little guard dogs for her. That made him happy. Now she had them too.
"How long have you guys been together?" Thalia asked Cassara.
"We have been together for fifty years. Maxius is actually the one that introduced us. If it wasn't for him we would have never found each other." Cassara answered.
"We need to talk about something else first before we get into that long story. We need to talk about Ajax. He will be here sometime today."
As soon as the word Ajax came out of his mouth she stiffened instantly. So he wrapped his arms around her to comfort her. It didn't seem to work though. She stayed ramrod straight in her seat next to him. He really wished she didn't feel that way about him but she did. He would try to get her to see he wasn't someone to be feared. Even if he was a shifter.
"You didn't tell me he was coming too. Why didn't you tell me?" Thalia said. She really didn't want to see him again. She never had the time to talk about it yet. But she knew she had to be right about him. She just had to.
"You will see he is a good man. You just have to get used to him. He isn't like those other shifters. You will see. I promise." Maxius said.
Then she looked over to Cassara and Vander. They seemed totally calm to find this out. Like they didn't have a problem with him. Maybe it was just her. She did have an irrational rear when it came to shifters. It really could be Ezekiel and his goons that makes her feel this way about Ajax. There was only one way to find out.
"I will give it one more shot. However I am not promising anything. It could be the way we met the first time. You were kind of yelling at him." Thalia said with a pointed look at Maxius. "That is one reason I came out wielding a bat." she said with a laugh.
"Well there is more. There will be two more people coming. They are witches. They will be here before Ajax gets here. They should be here any minute. We may be moving tonight. There is just going to be too many people to stay in the cabin. However I have a bigger place here in colorado we can all go to."
"Witches too. You know witches too. How many people do you know?"
It was really overwhelming going from being alone to have all these people around her. She didn't know how well she would handle it. It was so much easier getting away when you were only one person. Plus now she would have to worry about the safety of all of them. She didn't want other people to get hurt because of her.
"Oh the Thalia. It be the ok. The Maxius knows lots and lots of people. People of all sorts." Thyme said from her right shoulder.
"Yeah the Thelia. It be the ok. You see." Tryx chimed in from her left.
"I will see how it goes." Thalia said to the both of them. Then she held up her two index fingers to the both of them and they fist bumped them.
She was really starting to care about the little imps. She really was. They were the coolest thing ever. Plus they had so much character in their little bodies. They were so spunky. She loved the way they talked too. It was so odd. Their speech pattern might rub off on her. And how funny would that be.
