In the pitch of night: When He Finds You

Chapter 32

Going across town they arrived at a huge building. On the front of it it said the tower. They all got out of the vehicles. Then they headed for the doors. The tower was nothing but steel and windows. It had to be at least thirty stories high. It was massive. Once they were through the doors they went to the desk.
The desk was huge. It was made of black granite. There were flowers set to one side. And a crystal bowl on the other. The receptionist was petite. She had blonde hair and large blues eyes.
"We are here to see Xavier." Maxius said.
"One moment." The receptionist said.
While they waited for what was next Maxius started thinking about what would come next. He sure didn't want to be standing around doing nothing. He wanted to be out combing the streets looking for Thalia and Psyche. He knew they probably wouldn't be in Salem anymore. However they would be close as long as they started searching soon.
"What are we waiting for? Some of us can go and start looking now. We need to be out searching for them." Cassara complained.
"She is right. We could split up and start searching. We can break in fours for now and some of us can wait for Xavier. The rest of us could search the streets and see if anyone saw anything." Vander said. "We should have started at the hotel and searched out from there."
"You're right. We can start looking. Four of you go back to the hotel and start there the rest of us will wait here." Cazmir said. "Shade, Cade, Jace and Bellatrix. You guys go and start at the hotel. Contact us if you find anything."
"Sir, yes sir." Jace said teasingly with a salute.
Then they were off. The rest of them stood around and waited for Xavier to come out. They had only been waiting for a few minutes but it felt like years. They needed to be doing something Maxius thought.
"What is taking them so long?" Liliana asked.
"You need to have some patients. They should be down here soon." Coleman said. "He won't keep us waiting long."
Maxius sure hoped so. He really hoped that the group that went back to the hotel found some type of clue on where they were taken. There had to be something. Anything. Looking around he realized there were people everywhere. There were more than just the others here. There were even humans. The tower was a huge place. He didn't know why he was shocked to see humans here.
"Hello. How are you tonight?" A human woman asked when she walked by.
He didn't pay any attention to her. He had too much on his mind to answer her. He was past worried. They could be tortured or worse. They needed to hurry up and find them. There was no telling what Ezekiel would do to them.
"Hey my man?" Cazmir asked Maxius.
"What hey?" he replied.
"You need to get out of your own head. You won't be any good if you don't. You need to be prepared. We don't know what we will be walking into. Keep your head on straight." Cazmir told him.
"I am trying, I am just worried."
"I am too. However you still need to stay out of your head. We will find them. Just give it time. We will find them before it is too late."
He really hoped they did. He wouldn't be able to forgive himself if something happened to her. He needed her. He loved her. She was his life. He really did love her. How could he not. She was perfect for him. Cazmir was right he needed to get out of his own head or it would be dangerous for him if he wasn't on all cylinders. He needed to be using his whole brain for this.
"You're right. I need to get my shit together or I won't be worth a damn out there. And that wouldn't be good for anyone. I am just ready to get out here and go and find them."
"And we will just relax and take some breaths. You are starting to worry everyone." Cazmir added.
"Fine, fine. I will try my best."
Then they waited some more. Damn he sure was taking his sweet ass time. Didn't he realize this was an emergency. That we need to get out there and start looking for them. Damn he was tired of thinking the same thing over and over again. Between looking for them, what could be happening to them, back to being out and looking for them. It was getting tiring. He was ready to do something. He was starting to get fidgety.
Finally there was Xavier. He came walking in. He had to be at least six feet four inches. He had longish black hair and hazel eyes. He was big and bulky. Not in a fat sort of way. He was pure muscles. He was a massive male. And there were three more men with him that were about the same size just a little shorter and not as muscular. However they were all big males.
"Welcome to the tower." Xavier said. "Sorry about the wait." He looked over to the males that were with him. "Some people worry too much."
They must be his bodyguards. Not that it looked like he needed them. It was kind of funny looking to have bodyguards that were smaller than you. Or maybe they were his advisers. They helped everything run smoothly.
"I am glad you are meeting with us. There is a male shifter. His name is Ezekiel. He has taken two of our people. He is a sadistic male. He has been hunting one of them for years. The last year she has done nothing but run for her life. I am her appointed guardian. She was kidnapped tonight with another female of ours. Their names are Thalia and Psyche."
"These are three of my main people. They are my commanders. This is Zan." He pointed to the one with brown hair. "This is Dixen." He pointed to the blonde one. "And last but not least this is Chaz." He had black hair.
"Nice to meet all of you." Maxius said. Then they were all shaking hands.
"Well let us get down to business. The quicker we find them the better. Let's go to my meeting room. There is enough room for everyone." Xavier said.
Then they were off. They all followed him to a large elevator. One that was big enough to fit all of them. Fourteen people and eight imps. It was a tight fit but they were all in.
"We need to find the Thalia." Tryx whispered in Maxius's ear. "The Thalia is going to be hurt."
"We will find her. However we need to stay relaxed. Getting worked up won't help any one. I am sorry if all you guys feel shut out right now. We just need to figure out a game plan. You will be included though. We are going to need you guys. Maybe recon."
Then all the imps but two were around him. They all wanted something to do. They were going to have to wait though. He wanted something to do too. Sending them on recon would be a great idea. They would be able to get in and out without being noticed. At least he knew Thyme and Tryx could. They have done it for him before.
Then they were exiting the elevator. When they got out they were in a long black and silver hallway. Then they all went into the second room on the left. Once everyone was seated they started to discuss ideas and places they might be within a fifty mile radius of Salem. He didn't think they would go far.
"I think they probably went far enough they wouldn't be found right away, however they are close enough to launch an attack against us." Cazmir said.
"I agree with Cazmir." Maxius said.
"I think they are traveling and trying to get as far away as they can. They have what they want. They have Thalia. Plus they got Psyche. They know we will be coming for them." Ajax said.
"I think he is right. Why would they go to war right now anyways." Liliana said. "We need to think outside the box."
"No they are close. I just know they are. He wants more than just Thalia and Psyche. He wants to rule the others. He wants Xavier's job. I bet he is trying to get information from Thalia and Psyche." Maxius said. "That is what I would do if I was him."
"He wouldn't know what to do if he had my job. He is too ruthless to do it. It would be bad for everyone if he was in charge. He would try and wipe out all vampires. I know he would. He has been going after covens for years. That is how his pack got so small. The vampires fought back." Xavier said.
