Out in the kitchen Thalia had a glass of blood and was stuck in her own head. She totally thought her reader was off before. She really didn't get a vibe this time. She would keep her guard up around him though just to be sure.
"What do you guys think of Ajax? I want your opinion. Do you guys think he is a good guy." Thalia asked.
"Oh yes the Thalia. He is the good. He once saved the Maxius." Tryx said with hero worship.
"When did he save the Maxius? As you call him."
She really wanted to believe he was different then other shifters. She really did. She just didn't know if she could get over the fact that he was one. And on that note. She really didn't know what she thought of Coleman either. He was part shifter and part vampire. That was what Ezekiel wanted from her. He wants mixed breeds. They were supposed to be more powerful than all of them put together. If he had a pack like that he would be unstoppable.
"What are you doing in here?" A deep male voice rumbled.
Turning around quickly she had the glass raised above her head ready to bring it down across whoever's head was behind her. She barely had time to stop. It was just Cade. she didn't get a bad vibe from him. When the remaining blood in her glass splashed out it landed on his shirt.
"I am so sorry. You scared me." Thalia ran to the counter for a towel. She sat her cup down and picked up the dish rag. Then she headed back to Cade and started to wipe at the mess on his shirt. "I am so sorry. I spook easily."
"It is ok. I didn't mean to scare you. I was just coming to talk. I heard you and Ajax don't get along." Cade said.
"It is not that we don't get along, it's just that he gives me a vibe that I think I was misreading. I think it is because he is a shifter. I kind of get the same vibe from Coleman too. Not as bad but it is there. So it is just me. Tryx was about to tell me the story of Ajax saving Maxius's life."
"I can tell you Ajax is a good shifter. He has never sided with them. He doesn't believe in their ways. It is hard to explain. I don't think he would ever betray Maxius though. He did save his life."
Listening to the story on how Ajax saved Maxius's life she was pleased and shocked at the same time. She didn't know that Maxius had once been captured by a group of shifters. Ajax had overheard the fight going down and stepped in and got Maxius away from the shifters.
"That's amazing. Maybe I am reading it all wrong. I have to be. Thank you guys for telling me the story. I greatly appreciate it." Thalia said.
"Is everything ok in here?" Maxius asked. Looking at Coleman he noticed the blood on his shirt and how close Thalia was to him. "What did you do Coleman?"
Jumping back she said. "It isn't his fault. He spooked me. I almost hit him over the head with my glass of blood and it splashed out of the cup and landed on him. I was trying to clean the mess up."
He walked up to them and said, "I have a shirt that might fit you. Follow me and I will get you one. Thalia we are getting ready to go. You need to go get your stuff ready to go. The house isn't far but we need to move quickly."
Taking off for the bedroom with Thyme and Tryx in tow they started to get her stuff together. Tryx grabbed the socks. And Thyme grabbed the underwear. Then I grabbed the pants and shirts. Then she decided to change just in case.
She pulled out her leather pants and her black long sleeve shirt and her leather trench coat and her black combat boots and headed for the bathroom. She wanted to be prepared. Plus she had weapons and stuff in her trench coat. She had a length of chain and a few throwing knives. She got changed quickly and put her hair up in a high tight ponytail then went back to the bedroom.
"The Thalia you look the scary." Thyme said.
"No she look the Dangerous. Like the ass kicker would look like." Tryx said.
"Aw. you guys are so sweet. I am an ass kicker. I don't take anything just laying down. And if they come for me I will give them the fight of their lives. I am tired of running."
"You rock the Thalia." Thyme said. "I want to be like you. I be right back." with that Thyme flew away.
"Me already the ass kisker. I will protect the Thalia." Then he took off.
About two minutes they both came flying back in clad in leather. And how cute was that. They both had tiny knives in sheaths on their hips. Thyme had on a leather halter and black leather skinny pants with her kind of combat boots except hers had tiny heals on them. Tryx on the other hand had on loose fitting leather pants and what looked like a leather vest that was buttoned up he was also wearing a pair of combat boots.
"See we the ass kickers too." Thyme said.
Pushing Thyme, Tryxs said. "I was already the ass kicker. Thyme."
That's when Thyme pushed him back. When they locked arms they started a spiral towards the floor and they were still pushing and slapping at each other. Before they hit the floor they flew back up to eye level then headed towards the floor again. They were such a mess.
"Hey now, that's enough. Come on guys we can all be kiss asses." Thalia said.
Then in came Maxius. "What is taking so long?" Then he looked towards Thyme and Tryx. "you two. Stop that right now. We do not have the time for that."
They both stopped immediately. They were both flushed. Thankfully no one was hurt. They were just breathing a little hard.
"We are the sorry. We not mean to fight?" Thyme said flying up to Thalia and perching on her shoulder.
Tryx on the other hand perched on Maxius's shoulder. "We protect the females not hurt the them. I am the sorry Maxius. I am the sorry."
"It's ok bud. But you're right we don't hurt females. We don't do things like that. We protect them." Then he looked at Thalia and said, "Even if they can protect themselves."
"That we can." Thalia said holding up her finger for a fist bump. When Thyme's tiny fist hit her finger she added. "Hell yeah."
"Hell the yeah." Thyme added.
