In the room Thalia was sitting on the bed. The imps were all perched around the room on different objects in the room. Thyme and Tryx were the closest to her though. They were sitting on either side of her. They never ventured too far away. They were both on the bed. Ivy was on the nightstand with Tatum. Drude and Mai were on the other nightstand.
"The Vander was mean. He didn't mean to be the mean though. The Vander is nice. He not like the Liliana." Tryx said, patting her hand with his little one.
"I know he wasn't being mean. I just didn;t know anything about that. I always thought Ezekiel was just after me. I didn't know he was after my parents too. That was a shock to me." Thalia replied.
"Well the Vander told you now. What are the Thalia going to do." Thyme asked.
"Yeah the Thalia what are you going to do?" Ivy asked.
I really don't know what I am going to do, She thought to herself. There was so much that she needed to figure out that she was confused. She didn't want these people to risk their lives for her. If they were as bad as they said he was why didn't he win the fight between his pack and the vampires. There had to be a reason they didn't win. She wanted to know what it was.
"I don't know yet." Thalia heard herself say. There has to be a reason.
Once she got her head back in order she would go find out all the answers she needed. Until then she would just relax and think of how and who to ask the questions to. Her best bet would be Maxius, she thought. She did need to feed though.
Heading to the kitchen she walked by all the people in the living room. As soon as she stepped out of the room everyone got really quiet. They must have been talking about her or her parents. When she poured herself a glass of blood she decided to heat it up this time. She needed something warm. She really wanted to feed from the vein. She actually needed to. She just didn't want to take any strength from Maxius especially now. He needed to be strong. They all did. She realized that now. Ezekiel and his pack would be coming for blood when they came.
She needed to talk to Maxius about getting fresh blood. Plus we needed to feed the witches and the shifters. Maybe they could order them food again and feed all the vampires. Or they could all take an outing to get some blood.
"Hey. I am sorry for saying that in front of you. I thought you knew. I am truly sorry." Vander said.
"It is ok. I can understand why you thought I would no. Why did my parents leave the coven? When did they leave?"
"They left after the remainder of the pack retaliated. They took out a lot of us. We all dispersed. Some of us joined other covens and some of us went out on our own. Your parents were the latter. They thought running would be the best way. However they were right to run. The pack came after every coven they came across. They made everyone pay." Vander replied.
"I am so sorry. Did you lose anyone?"
"No, Cassara and I were some of the runners. We were with your parents for a time. Then we all went into hiding. We all went to different states when we did that we thought we were safe. We actually started to settle down. We thought the pack would leave us alone; it had been years since an attack on the vampires. That's when your parents had you. They thought you would be safe."
"Thank you. I am glad you told me. I needed to know what this was all about. I thought it was about just me."
"Nope that is why we are all here. It isn't just you that is in danger. He may want you. But it is a lot more than just that. He wants to take out all the vampires that he can. He thinks the shifters should be in charge not the vampires."
"Hey what are you two talking about?" Maxius came in and asked.
"We were just talking about Ezekiel and the pack." Thalia said, taking a sip of her blood. "I think I really want to feed."
The gleam Maxius got in his eyes she knew exactly what he was thinking. He wanted her to feed from him. Which she already did last night she wouldn't be doing that again. He would have to suffer without her bite for a little while.
"Well let's go. We will go feed then we will join everyone for dinner. Even though you won't eat. We can sip some wine or something. Most vampires eat to fit in." Maxius said.
"No Maxius. Like I said last night. You need to keep your strength. Especially now that I know what we are going to be up against. We need to feed off of other people. Like we can go out and actually hunt."
"No we will not go out hunting. We can order take out and feed that way. The informant Jace just got a hold of Cazmir. He said they are about to move. They are heading to Salem. They heard that was the last place you were seen." Maxius said. "Who in Salem knows you? or even seen you for that matter?"
"No one. I had just gotten to Salem when you found me. You know this. Did you tell anyone you were going to Salem?" Thalia asked.
"I didn't tell anyone. Almost everyone I know is here in this house. And I trust all of them." he answered.
Well someone saw her or heard that was where he was going now they just had to figure out who. Maybe someone betrayed them. You never know. If they were as vicious that they said he was maybe he threatened someone and they are worried about their safety and decided to be an informant like they had one with him. That would make a lot of sense. Or our informant was the informant.
"What about this guy Jace. could he have told them we were in Salem?" Thalia asked. "Trying to lead them further away from Colorado. You know what I mean? Texas is kind of close to us. Maybe we should move further away."
"That could be it. I will ask Cazmir about it after we feed. We will all sit at the table and talk about the steps we need to take next."
Maxius wasn't happy about her feeding from someone else but he knew it was the right thing to do. Everytime he fed her he had to feed twice as much to replenish himself. He was just going to have to get over it wasn't he. Then the subject of someone seeing her. He didn't know how to take that. What if it wasn't the informant covering their trail but someone actually knowing her and seeing her. If that was the case they could have overheard them talking about Colorado.
