In the pitch of night: When He Finds You

Chapter 14

When there was a loud knock on the door she stiffened just a little bit.
"It is going to be the ok. Just remember. It will be the ok." Thyme said wrapping her arm around the back of Thalia's neck.
"It will be ok. It will be ok." she chanted softly to herself. She really hoped the witches made it here first. Knowing her luck though it would be Ajax. and she wasn't armed. However she did have fangs and fist if need be.
Then there he was in the flesh. It was Ajax. She tried to stay relaxed. She was having a hard time doing that though. Then there was another figure walking in behind him. It was another man. She sniffed the air. He didn't smell like a shifter. He didn't smell like a vampire either. He was something other. Maybe he was a witch.
"Everyone knows Ajax. This other man is Coleman. He is a shifter vampire. So he is a hybrid. He is another friend. Coleman I think the only one you have never met before is Thalia. But the other two are Cassara and Vander."
"It is nice to meet all of you." Coleman said.
She thought he seemed nice enough. Better than how she felt about Ajax. she was glad one other person liked Ajax. That must mean her reader was off. Hell Cassara and Vander didn't seem fazed by him either.
"What's up everyone." Ajax said. "Nice to see you again, Thalia. It is nice you aren't wielding a bat this time. I am shocked you aren't"
"Nice to see you again." Not. "How have you been?" Not that I care." she added to herself.
"I am doing good. I have some good news. Ezekiel is not on our trails yet. He is back in Texas. He thinks the trail has gone cold."
That made a shiver run up her spine. Just hearing his name did that to her. She did not want to have to deal with him. She knew she would have to one day. But hopefully not anytime soon. She couldn't deal with him yet. She really wished she would never have to.
Then there was another knock on the door. This time she didn't stiffen. She stayed still though. Then a tall woman and male came in. They must be the witches she thought. The female was tall with a willowy build. She had straight black hair and big green eyes. The male on the other hand was bulky with muscles he had to be the same height as Maxius. If not a little taller. His eyes were hazel. They both had kind eyes when they looked at Thalia.
"How are you guys? I am Traynor and this is Cade." The woman Traynor said.
"Hi I am Thalia. This is Tryx and this is Thyme." she said pointing at the two of them. "You guys probably already know them though. But I have kind of claimed them as mine now." Thalia said looking over to Maxius with a small smile.
"Is that right? They are yours now?" Maxius said, smiling back at her. He was so glad she was handling everything so well. She was smiling, maybe she realized Ajax wasn't so bad after all.
"Yes they are mine. Aren't you guys mine?" Thalia asked Thyme and Tryx.
"Yes We are the Thalia's." Tryx said with a peck to her cheek.
"Yep. we are the Thalia's. She the bestest." Thyme said.
Didn't that just make him happy. He was happy they had bonded like that. That meant that she had two more stable people in her life. Maybe she really wouldn't run this time. She had too many people that cared about her.
"So Coleman. Have you found anything out about the plan that Ezekiel has?" Maxius asked.
"So far all I have found out is their group has split into two groups. They are searching everywhere for her. They are staying close-lipped about their plans for her. However I can only imagine what they have planned for her. And it isn't anything good." Coleman said.
That made him frown. He was really hoping that someone would have some kind of news. Well he guessed Ajax did. However they could just be regrouping to come up with a better plan to get her.
"Well we know something." Vander said. "We know they don't have any vampires working for them. So that is one less thing we have to worry about."
"Well they do have a low level witch working for them. I found out earlier today about it." Traynor said.
"He is nothing special though. He is nowhere as strong as us." Cade added.
When Maxius glanced back at Thalia he realized she was mean mugging Ajax. he really couldn't understand her when it came to him. He really was a good guy. He would never do anything to betray their friendship. He knew deep down he wouldn't.
"Hey, we're going to go to the kitchen." Thalia said to Maxius. Talking about Tryx, Thyme and herself.
"Ok Thalia. Hey there is some blood in the fridge if you want some. It's cold but it will keep you full for a little while."
"Ok thank you."
After she walked out of the room they started talking more frankly about everything that was going on. Until Ajax had to open his mouth.
"What is wrong with her when it comes to me? I have never done anything to her. I just don't get it. She seems ok if everyone else." Ajax said.
"I think it is because you are a shifter. That's the only thing I can think of. It has to be that. There is really no other explanation." Maxius said.
"Well that is kind of understandable. I can see why she might be standoffish towards me. I just hope she can learn to trust me one day. I want to keep her safe just as much as all of you. Can you imagine what the shifters would go through if Ezekiel won this. Shifters would go through hell."
"She will come to see that soon enough. We will just have to show her." Maxius said. Everyone else nodded in agreement. "On that note I think we need to get to the bigger safe house. There isn't enough room here for everyone. Is there anyone else meeting us here?" he asked everyone.
"Bellatrix was supposed to be here. I will see if I can get a hold of her. She was supposed to be here about an hour ago." Ajax said.
