Chapter 43

Maxius was down in the infirmary he couldn't believe who he was seeing. He was in shock. It was none other than Trev. He really couldn't believe his eyes. And there next to him was Casha. Thalia parents. They were hurt badly but they were alive. Holy shit. They were alive. He still couldn't believe what he was seeing.
They needed to feed and rest. However he needed to tell them that Thalia was alive and safe. They at least deserved to know that. Walking into the room they were in he headed towards the beds they both were laying on. They looked awful. But they were alive and that was all that mattered. The reason they weren't in the cells was because someone had recognized them and took them to the infirmary right after they were rescued.
"Oh god. My baby. Where is my baby." Casha said with pleading eyes. "I need to see my baby. It has been too long. Is she ok? My baby. Oh god."
"Shh dear. Let Maxius talk. I am sure Thalia is fine. Maxius wouldn't have let her get hurt." Trev said to his mate trying to calm her.
Maybe he should have brought Thalia with him. They deserve to see her after so long. He just wanted to make sure it was ok with them first. However he should have known they would want to see her right away. They did see her get tortured. They would want to know she was safe and not hurt.
"Do you wish for me to go and get her. It would be but a moment. She was upstairs talking to Coleman when I left her. She doesn't know we have found you yet."
"Oh yes. My baby. I need to see my baby." Casha pleaded.
"One moment and she will be here." Maxius said, then he took off for the door.
The elevator ride seemed to take forever. But soon enough he was in the conference room. Scanning the crowd he didn't see her. The first person he spotted was Liliana. He walked right up to her.
"Have you seen Thalia?" Maxius asked.
"Yeah I saw her not too long ago. She went out into the hall. Xavier followed her out the door. I haven't seen her since." Was her reply.
Then he headed for the door without saying anything more. Looking left and right he saw her further down the hall to the right looking at a painting on the wall. He hurried right up to her.
"Thalia, you need to come with me right now. It is important. I need to show you something." Maxius said urgently.
"Did you know my great great grandparents?" She asked dazedly. "I even have cousins here. Right here in the tower."
"Can we talk about this later. I need to show you something. I promise though. We will talk as soon as it is just us. I have so much to tell you. Come now Thalia we need to head to the infirmary."
"Ok ok. I am coming." She said. "What is so important?"
"Just come. I will show you."
Then he grabbed her hand and basically drugged her down the hallway. He hurried to the elevator and then they were descending. He needed to prepare her for what she was about to see he had no words though. So he kept her hand in his and rubbed little circles on the back of her hand.
"What is so important? I was about to meet Dixen."
"Why were you meeting Dixen?" He said, feeling a little jealous.
"He is my cousin. So what is the rush."
Then he was releasing the breath he didn't realize he was holding. Thank god. He was her cousin. Just her cousin. He was glad she was going to meet some of her family. She would be even happier when she saw her parents for the first time in over a year. He really hoped it was going to go good. Then the elevator doors were opening and they were heading down the corridor. The last room on the right was where her parents were.
"Just so you know everything is going to be ok. Do you trust me?"
"I trust you."
Then he leaned down and kissed her on the top of her head. Then to himself he added I love you. Then they were at the door. He heard a gasp from Thalia and then her hand was no longer in his and she was through the door and heading towards her parents. He stood back and watched the reunion. They all looked so happy together.
"Oh there is my baby. Look how beautiful. Ain't she beautiful Maxius." She said with a knowing smile.
She must have scented him on her. He still couldn't believe it. They were alive and he was afraid everything was about to change. She would no longer need him. They had Ezekiel in custody and now she had her parents. Where would that leave him? He had no clue. But that was something to worry about at another time.
"The most beautiful." He finally answered.
Then he was back to watching. They were all embracing each other and crying.
"I can't believe it. Ezekiel didn't lie. You guys are alive." she cried. "I have my parents back." Then she looked over her shoulder towards Maxius. "Come here Maxius. I know you already know each other but I want to introduce you again."
"Mom, dad this is Maxius. I think we are boyfriend and girlfriend."
No we are mates sweetling, he thought to himself. You just haven't figured it out yet. He would tell her tonight though. After the reunion when they were finally alone. He was going to have the imps and the others all in their own rooms tonight.
"I knew it." Trev said. "I knew you would make a good match." then he winked at Maxius. "I just knew it."
"How sweet love. How sweet. Maxius is a great vampire. He will take good care of you."
If they only knew. He couldn't believe they were not upset about this. Did they know she was his mate. His one true mate. He would never love another after her if she decided to leave. He would follow her to the ends of the world if that is what it took.
"I will give you guys some privacy. I know you will want to talk for a while." Maxius said.
"Actually we need some rest. We will catch up more tomorrow. Plus my baby has had a rough day. She needs the rest also." Casha said.
"Yes yes. We need the rest. And we need to feed. We will see you tomorrow. Then we will talk. There is alot to talk about." Trev said.
"I love you mom and dad. I am so glad you guys are ok."
"We love you too. And we will see you tomorrow morning. We will meet you upstairs in the conference room." Trev said.
Then Maxius took her hand and headed for the door. He was really glad he was able to give this gift to her. That he was able to reunite them.
