In the pitch of night: When He Finds You

Chapter 25

After Maxius was done in the shower he went in search of everyone else. They were still all at the table. They had all been discussing what we were going to do once we got to Salem.
"I think the first thing we need to do is find Xavier. He needs to know what is heading his way. Actually I think we should call and tell him. I believe I have his number somewhere around here if I can find it." Maxius said.
"I have it on speed dial. I work with him quite a bit." Shade said.
"Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Coleman asked.
Maxius wanted to know the same thing. She could have told them when they were talking about going to Salem. Or at least when they found out that is where the pack was headed. They really needed to give Xavier a warning. Surely he would want to know.
"Let's get Xavier on the phone. We need to warn him about the pack and about us coming that way. Shade will you take care of that?" Maxius asked.
"I am on it." Then she pulled out her phone and placed it to her ear.
Next they needed to figure out what else they needed to get done before they could leave. His bag was already packed. They couldn't take much there plus there wasn't going to be much room in the vehicles. One bag a piece is all they have room for. There were only four cars. They were going to be packed.
"Everyone needs to get ready to go. Bags need to be packed. Then the cars need to be packed." Maxius said.
That's when Thalia came out of the room. She was dressed in leather like usual however today she came out wearing her trench coat with her bag tossed over her shoulder. She looked ready to go. She had her long black hair pulled up in a high braided ponytail. She even had her eyes lined in black. She was absolutely beautiful. She looked like a total ass kicker.
"Hello everyone." Thalia said, when she walked into the kitchen area.
"Hello." Maxius growled, walking up to her and wrapping her in his arms.
She was so precious to him. She really was. He was ready to get this all behind them where she could finally be safe.
"The Thalia. Finally." Thyme said, flying up to her. "You the late. We the leave now. The imps ride with you."
"Well of course. You can always come with me." Thalia answered.
Once again he was happy that they got along so well. He was kind of jealous of the imps though. You could tell that she loved the imps. He wanted her love too. He would have it one day soon. There was no way he wouldn't. He would make sure of it. Then Thyme and Tryx came and pushed him out of the way.
"Move the Maxius. The Thalia is ours." Tryx said, flying and pushing on his shoulder.
"Ok. Ok." He said, unwrapping his arms from around Thalia. Then Thyme and Tryx perched on either of her shoulders. Then Ivy and Mai came to him.
"We love the Maxius." Mai said. "We love the Maxius too."
Then they were all just standing around. They really needed to get going. "Is everyone ready to go? We need to get on the road."
"Yeah we are already." Vander said. "We have been ready." He added with a smile and a wink.
"Oh shut it." Thalia said.
Thalia was so ready to get on the road. She was ready to get this all over with. She needed to get this all over with. "Who is riding with who?" she asked.
Then the doorbell rang. Everyone went on high alert.
"Who the fuck is that?" Cade demanded.
No one moved for a heart beat. Then the doorbell went off again. Then there was a faint voice on the other side of the door. "It is Jace."
"What the hell is Jace doing here, Cazmir?" Maxius demanded.
"He said they left him behind in Texas. He said he was going to be heading this way. I am sorry I forgot to tell you guys." Cazmir answered.
Then Cazmir went to open the door. Then Jace walked in. Jace had blonde hair and black eyes. He was shorter than Maxius. He was kind of handsome in a manly sort of way. He wasn't too bulky he was more lithe muscle.
"Jace, how did you get here?" Cazmir asked.
"I drove as soon as they left. I followed them for a while. They were definitely headed to Salem. But I have bad news. They have more people. And they just aren't shifters. He has recruited vampires and witches too. He truly means to go to war. And you don't have enough people. We need to get moving."
"Everyone load up, we need to get on the road." Maxius said. "We need to get on the road now."
Everyone took off for cars. They all threw their bags in the trunks and loaded up. In one car was Thalia, Maxius, Vander and Cassara. Then the six imps Thyme, Tryx, Mai, Ivy, Drude and Tatum. In another car there was Shade, Jace, Traynora and Cade. in another there was Coleman Liliana, and two imps Pax and Jade. in the last car it was Ajax, Bellatrix, Psyche and Cazmir. Then they were all taking off.
