Out in the bedroom. Thalia was sitting on the bed. Ready to hear the answer to the question. But she had a feeling she wasn't going to get one based on the look on Maxius's face. She was prepared to brow beat him until she had an answer.
"Well are you going to answer me?" Thalia asked. "I know you know something by the look on your face. Tell me." Please tell me she added to herself I need to know.
While he stayed silent she tried to patiently wait. But she was so antsy she got up and started to pace around. She just couldn't sit still any more. She needed answers and she needed them now. If she could have just one answer before questioning Ezekiel if would help her stay calm. Looking back at Maxius she cocked her eyebrow at him and put her hands on her hips like give me an answer.
"I do know what is so special about you. However before I tell you I need you to understand something. Your parents loved you very much. You were their whole world. They would have done anything for you. You know that right?"
What the hell did that have to do with anything. She knew her parents loved her. They ran for her for years. They gave their own lives to protect her. She no longer had parents because of her. So damn right she knew her parents loved her with all of their hearts.
"Yes I know they loved me. They gave up everything for me." She answered quietly.
Then she was waiting again for an answer. So she continued to pace. And pace some more. God damn it she thought. If she didn't get answers soon she was going to pull out her hair. What could be so bad? There really wasn't anything he couldn't tell her. She trusted him with her life. She trusted him in general. What could be so bad.
"Thalia, come here and sit down." Once she was seated he grabbed her hand. "Sweetling, you are not a normal vampire. Have you noticed you feel stronger feeding from me than you do humans? How you are stronger than vampires more than half your age? You are so special."
"I have noticed all of that. But it still doesn't explain anything." Thalia huffed.
"Ok ok. Let me just tell you then you can ask me questions about it. Thalia you are part demon."
"Wait hold up. No I am not. My parents were both vampires. Pure blooded vampires. I know they were." Then she smelled herself and then she smelled Maxius. Their scents were mildly different. She smelled just a little sweeter than him. That had to be because she was a female vampire though. It had to be. "Are you saying my parents aren't my parents? How can that be though? Demons are so rare now. There is no way I am part demon."
"Oh sweetling you are. Your dad was half demon. He tried his best to keep it a secret. However someone found out. There their coven had pure blooded demons in it. How do you think they wiped out most of Ezekiel's pack? Demons are so much stronger than vampires and shifters."
"Well I think I need to process this. I will ask more questions later about it. I still don't think I am a demon. But if you say I am I must be. Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"I was going to the first night. You were already so freaked out. Then you had that freak out with Ajax. well not necessarily freak outs per say but you were on edge. Then after that it slipped my mind honestly. Plus that doesn't make me feel any different about you."
How he felt about me? What was that supposed to mean? Guess that will be another question for later. She just sat there staring at the wall. She had so many more questions now. However they were for a different person. They were for the person she was falling in love with. She would definitely get her answers later.
"Well I will have more questions later and I will want answers. So I guess we need to head to the tower now. I am ready to get this all over with and head back home."
Even though she didn't know where home was anymore. However she really hoped it was with Maxius. She wanted to feel normal again. But right now she didn't even feel right in her own skin even though nothing had changed about her physically. Mentally though she was having a rough time. How do you handle the fact that you are not what you thought you were.
She thought she was like every other vampire. Being born of a mother and father. Growing up. Going outside day or night. Drinking blood. Doing normal vampire stuff. She wasn't even sure what being part demon meant for her life. Was she supposed to be doing more. Doing less. All she knew was she was apparently stronger than other vampires. But hell what does that even mean for her. Whoo hoo she was strong. She figured that was a plus though. How were other people going to see her now. She was different from everyone in the group. Hell she didn't even know anyone else like her. She was just so confused. She didn't know up from down or side to side. She would have to talk to Coleman about being a half breed. He was part shifter and vampire. Maybe he would know how to handle this.
