Thalia was standing in the shadows waiting for her prey to come out of the bar. She much preferred hunting at night even though she could go out in sunlight. She was wearing black leather pants, black boots and a long black trench coat over a black halter top. She had her long raven hair pulled up in a haphazard ponytail and she was ready to feed. There was nothing more in the world right then that she wanted to do. She was absolutely parched.
See the stories had it wrong. Vampires could come out in daylight. What better way to hide than in plain sight. Not that they had to hide any longer. All the others as they were called were legal now. The humans knew about all of them. The vampires, the shifters, the demons oh my. There were so many others. They decided they needed to come out. They even had their own secret government. That wasn't so secret anymore. And that is the reason she was in Salem. She needed help. Soon she would have it. She just had to make it there first.
So she had to be stronger and there lies the problem. She was starving to death. Literally. She wasn't going to make it much longer. This whole snatch and go sucked. However she had to do what she had to do to survive.
She had seen the man in there and had watched him for an hour and decided he would have to be the one. She tried to wait in the bar for him that way she could follow him out of the bar, but she started to draw attention to herself, and that was the last thing she needed. There was just something about the man though. She just couldn't seem to take her eyes off of him. It took everything she had to walk out of the bar and wait outside.
The man was dressed in a pair of low slung jeans and a fitted black t-shirt that showed all his slightly tanned skin and his well toned marginally bulky muscles. He had dark colored hair. Not as dark as hers but a soft black color. He also had a ruggedly handsome face, with a goatee around his nice kissable full lips. That she seemed to be fascinated with. His eyes were a honey golden color of brown. They were a color that she had never seen before. He was absolutely divine. She couldn't wait to feed from him. Just the thought alone made her mouth start to water.
She never took very much when she fed. She just sipped here and there where she wouldn't get caught. There lies the reason she was starving. She had felt like she hadn't fed months even though it had only been weeks. Getting caught was the last thing she needed. Especially with how weak she was at the moment. She would soon be taking care of that though. Hell she might go ahead and just drain one person. She might be able to handle that. Just this once.
She had been outside for about fifteen minutes. Come on, come on, she thought. She looked back and forth to make sure no one was watching her wait in the shadows of a nearby building for the delicious looking man. Looking back towards the bar's door she thought she saw someone come out but there was no one there. Leaning back in her spot she looked left and right. Bingo. How the hell did he get past me, she thought. Pushing off the wall she started to slowly follow him. When he turned his head to look behind him she flattened herself against the wall of the building she was next to hoping he wouldn't see her. When he turned back around she started to follow him again at a slower pace, but making sure she didn't lose him. When he took a right on to the next street she picked up her pace she didn't want to lose the man. She rounded the corner only to be snatched up and shoved against the wall of the building by her shoulders. "Why are you following me?" The man demanded in a deep voice. Finally he thought to himself. I finally have you.
Using her mind control she looked at him and said, "Turn your head. I am hungry." When it didn't work she was confused. It had always worked before. Well unless they were supernaturals. Surely this man wasn't one, Thalia thought. If he was she would have to run. There was no way she was going to get caught.
"That won't work on me sweetling. But all you had to do was ask. Not that I will feed you at the moment. I have some questions for you. Why are you hunting at a bar anyways? There has to be hundreds of people willing to feed you."
"What the fuck." leaning in she smelled him. Thank god he was a vampire, not a shifter. "Thank god." she whispered. "You are a vampire too." no wonder he got around her so fast.
He had an amazing smell to him. It was the most enticing smell she had ever smelled before. She couldn't even think of anything that had ever smelled as good as he did. Maybe it is because you're so hungry, Thalia. She reprimanded herself. Not only did he look good he smelled good too. He didn't smell like the overbearing scent of cologne like most of the humans she had been forced to feed from.
"What's your name sweetling?" the man rasped close to her ear. Even though he knew who she was. He had been following her for a while now. He was the one that was supposed to be protecting her, but he never seemed to be able to get close enough to her. Everytime he did she would slip through his fingers. He had failed her for the last year, but that would not happen again.
"You first. What is your name?" she asked. "God, you smell good." she muttered. Getting close to the crook of his neck taking an even bigger whiff of him. "You smell so good." She said faintly.
Wrapping her hair around his fist and pulling her away from his neck. He said, "My name is Maxius. What is your name? I won't ask again." at least she was trying to protect herself by not telling strange men her name.
"I am uh Casha." Thalia said using her mother's name.
"Try again, Little one. What is your name? And don't lie to me." Maxius said.
"I am Thalia." she looked both ways to make sure no one overheard her. "And I can't just go and ask someone to feed me. I feed discreetly though. I just take little sips here and there to get by." Maybe you could help me get out of the city, She added to herself.
Releasing his hold on her hair, "Why can't you ask someone to feed you?" He asked, even knowing the reason she couldn't. Hell if she could she wouldn't be starving now. She wouldn't be hungry now if she wouldn't have kept slipping through his fingers every time he came close to getting her she would disappear again. "Vampires are legal in Salem, you can even feed in public."
"It's a long story and I can't tell it out in the open. Will you please let me feed? Especially now that I know I won't kill you if I do. And don't you dare tell anyone that you saw me. No one you got it." Thalia demanded, pointing at him with her extended pointer finger.
"How about you come with me to my place? And I will feed you and you can tell me your story." Maxius said, intrigued by the vampire. Ever since he started to follow her he had been intrigued. When she started to look spooked and he thought she would run he added, "Come now. I won't hurt you. You can even drive if you want?"
"I don't have a car. I teleport. Where do you live?" Maybe she should take him up on his offer. He looked like a strong viral male. Hell he could probably help her. She really hoped he could, or would help her. Plus a place to actually sleep would be nice too. "Let me have a drop of your blood and I'll follow you." Even if she was starting to feel so weak she would still try to teleport even if she wouldn't be able to teleport much longer. "You don't understand I am starving. I need a lot of blood at the moment."
That was a good idea he thought. If she had his blood he would be able to find her anywhere. Even if she happened to slip away again. Plus he was sure she would try. She had been running for months. He wasn't here to hurt her though. He was here to protect her from the people after her.
When he opened his mouth she realized he was really going to give her some blood she sighed in relief. Then he pricked his finger on one of his fangs and held it out to her. "Just a taste for now."
Wrapping both of her hands around his wrist where he wouldn't take back that sweet lovely smelling offering, she pulled his hand close to her mouth. "Thank you." Then she took what was offered.
His blood was some of the strongest blood she had ever tasted, but that drop wasn't enough. She needed more. She sucked harder on his finger. When that wasn't enough she pulled his finger out of her mouth with a pop. Then she started to kiss up his hand towards his wrist. She really needed more. Just a little bit more. Then she licked his wrist, readying to bite the sweet spot just under her lips. She could just imagine the blood rushing into her mouth now. And it made her hunger pick up a notch. Surely he would understand that she needed just a little bit more.
"No you don't." Maxius said, holding her head away from his wrist with her ponytail. "That was cheating. I said when you get to my house I will feed you, not before. I have a feeling you would just run off afterward. And we need to talk."
"Please, please, please," she pleaded, "I really need more. I am starving. I am not playing." she said again, licking her lips for every last drop she could get. She could feel herself fading fast. She felt like she was going to pass out.
"Oh Sweetling, when was the last time you fed?" Maxius asked.
"It has been about two weeks. I have someone following me. I can't stay in the same area very long. And it's hard to snatch people some nights."
Wrapping his arms around her he decided just to teleport them both to his house. She seemed really weak. Maybe she really was starving. Plus the way she is hunting there was no way she was getting enough blood. When she was close to his body she started to lick up his neck. "Thalia you have to stop that. I promise I will give you your fill of blood once we are safe at my house."
Surely she can trust this man, she thought in a haze of hunger. She had a feeling deep in her gut that he wouldn't hurt her in the way the people following her would. "Ok. I'll be good for now. I can't make any promises for later."
"Just hold tight. We will be there in the blink of the eye. And then I will feed you and we will talk."
