"Umm... Well... I was...a little... hurt and confused, and needed to be alone for a bit, so I went to the ladies room to clean up and gather myself," I whisper looking down at my lap again, feeling the heat rise up to my neck and face.

"I'm sorry, I should have asked you to join me in my bathroom to clean up, instead of just assuming you would go in there on your own. I am truly sorry; this friends with benefits thing we have going on is pretty new to me as well." He says while gently stroking my face. I look up at him, and I can see that he is being sincere, at least I hope he is.

He was about to kiss me again when the door opens "Son, are you ready to... " I turn to see an older version of Jaxon walking through the door, with a huge smile on his face as he looks between Jaxon and I.

"Why Hello, you must be Elena," The older gentleman says as he limps over using his cane to come stand on the opposite side that Jaxon is on. He holds out his hand as I smile and give him my hand. He gently takes my hand in his and sweetly kisses the back of it.

"Son, if you don't have time for lunch today, I understand and we can reschedule, he says as he is still looking between both Jaxon and I and smiling a big toothy smile. Wait, how did he know my name? Has Jaxon been talking about me? I can't help but smile and turn to Jaxon, which is now standing next to me looking at his Dad. He looks like a kid that just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

"No, Dad, its okay. We can still go to lunch, I'll be ready in just a few minutes, let me just finish up in here and we can get going. "He smiles up at his dad then looks at me. I stand up and was about to leave but Jaxon reached for my wrist and gently tugged me back.

"Elena, would you do us the honor of having lunch with us? I won't take no for an answer my dear." Jaxon's dad says as he walks out still wearing that same smile, it's quite infectious actually.

Once his Dad walks out of his office, Jaxon grabs me and brings me into a suffocating hug. I can feel him smelling my neck and I snuggle in closer, Damn defiant body. "Come to lunch with us" he whispers in my ear "My Dad won't let up, he's pretty persistent." he chuckles as he slowly releases me from his arms.

I'm not sure if I really want to go, this is all very overwhelming. Jaxon must notice my hesitation. "It's just lunch, I am going to be gone for at least two weeks," he says in a cute boyish way that makes me melt. He has a way of persuading me to do things that I feel I'm not quite ready for, but yet also feel that possibly, maybe I could be ready for?

"Okay...I'll go, just let me grab my purse. I smile at Jaxon and go to fetch my bag. When I walk out the door, I find Jaxon's dad sitting at my desk. He's holding his dark mahogany cane with this intricate carving of a phoenix with both hands overlapping each other on the top of the white marble palm grip. He looks up when I walk out, and smiles at me. I can't help but smile back. He seems so genuinely sweet; I don't know why I just want to hug him. I don't of course because that would be creepy.
