Jaxon POV
"Thanks for all your help 'J'. I couldn't have pulled this all together without you and Vincent." I thank Jeremy.
Jeremy & Vincent were Godsends these last couple of days. I don't think I have ever been this nervous in my life, but if all goes as planned tonight, I will be the happiest man on earth.
"No Problem Jax! The only thing I ask in return is... that you name your first born after me." Jeremy chortles.
"Thanks... wait... What...First Born... Are you high?" I laugh at his comment
"Since I don't plan on ever having any, sure why not, I will name my first born after you." I chuckle as Jeremy deviously smirks at me.
"Why are you looking at me like that 'J'? Its freaking me out." I probe.
"Well... I don't think that you are being completely forthright my friend. If you love the girl, wouldn't getting hitched and starting a family be next on your agenda?" Jeremy asks exaggeratedly.
Seriously 'J'...I don't even know what is going to happen tonight." I Sigh and tug at my hair.
"The unknown is Killing me." I look up and see Jeremy walking toward me.
"It will all work out trust me. I don't' know why but I truly have a good feeling about tonight." Jeremy pats my back while giving me a big toothy smile.
"Thanks man, I need all the good juju you can send my way. I'm feeling a bit uneasy at the moment." I pause and sigh before I continue.
"The final package gets delivered today, and I am still unsure if Elena will even show up when I go to pick her up at the Hines residence. She hasn't unblocked me or even tried to reach out to me. Which of course has me on edge. Does this woman even miss me? Am I doing all this for nothing? My brain is just consumed with all these thoughts, and I hate feeling so vulnerable." I Exclaim.
"I think you need an alcoholic beverage, to get you out of your head a bit, Mate." Jeremy chuckles.
"You need to have Faith my friend. If what you have told me is accurate, then you two have a connection that won't be so easily broken." Jeremy reassures me as he pours us a drink.
I'm about to take my first sip when I feel my phone buzz in my pocket. When I see who it is, I feel my heart race and it might just leap out of my chest. What am I, fifteen years old again? I scold myself for allowing my emotions to control me yet again.
From My Kitten:
Thank you for the...Ummm... interesting gifts...
"It's Her! She just sent me a text thanking me for the interesting gifts!!!" I yell out in excitement.
"Holy Shit, get a hold of yourself mate. Try not to pop off prematurely when you see her tonight." Jeremy Chuckles
"Maybe we should pack you a few pairs of extra underwear just in case." Jeremy laughs uncontrollably.
I don't even pay attention to what he is saying, I start typing a reply instantly.
To My Kitten:
You're welcome kitten. I hope I piqued your curiosity enough to join me tonight.
I see the bouncing bubbles and my heart swells with happiness. How did I become this soft-shelled person.
From My Kitten:
I just hope curiosity doesn't kill this cat or should I say kitten... See you at 7:00pm.
I decided to delete my response to that message, because telling her what exactly I wanted to do to her kitty might be a bit too much, too soon for her right now. So, I left it at that.
I look up and see Jeremy looking at me with his goofy 'I told you so' grin as I take another pull from my scotch. "You were right about having a drink, I definitely feel more relaxed." I say confidently.
"Mmmmhmmm... Sure it was the Scotch. Or... was it a tall drink of water that goes by the name of Elena." He jokingly says.
"After receiving her text you're not so tense, and you can't hide that stupid grin on your face mate." Jeremy teases.
"She unblocked me, and she confirmed our date." I say as calmly as possible while attempting to hold back my shit-eating grin.
"That's great Jax!" Jeremy exclaims elatedly.
"I just confirmed that the set has been completed to your specifications and the location has been secured to ensure you will not be disturbed. In other words, everything is ready for tonight." Jeremy cheerfully chirps.
"Thanks man, I couldn't have done this without you. I hope she likes it. I don't think I have ever been this nervous in my life." I proclaim to Jeremy.
"Jaxon, she will love it. And yeah, I must agree that this is the first time I have seen you like this. It's pretty amusing to see the human side of you coming back out. For a minute there you turned into one of those vile work robots." Jeremy chortled.
"Your hilarious man, seriously. You know the pressure I was under after my dad handed over the reins. It was a huge adjustment for me, and I got into a routine... Honestly, I don't understand why I'm explaining this shit to you anyways..." I snidely reply.
"Okay...Okay... you don't have to get so angry about it. " Jeremy throws his hands up in mock surrender.
We sit and have a few more drinks while discussing my itinerary for tonight with Elena. Well, Jeremy has a few more drinks... I'm still sipping on my first. I want to be sober when I pick Elena up.
My alarm on my cell finally goes off telling me that I need to go get ready. Not that I needed it though. I have been watching that stupid clock on my wall like a hawk trying not to be too obvious. I take my cell out of my pocket as calmly as possible and turn off the alarm.
"Damn, is it that time already, I guess I should head up and get ready for tonight." I try to say without showing my excitement.
"Yeah, sure man, are you really going to try to play it off as if you haven't been watching that fucking clock behind me the whole fucking time, like an anxious school kid counting down the minutes for the last class to end before summer break." Jeremy chuckles.
"I have no idea what you're talking about?" I playfully retort. I should have known that he would see right through me, he always could.
