"This isn't a laughing matter you know?"

"You have to admit. It's pretty funny."

"Mm..."

"Don't make that face now."

The Commandant sighed as he grabbed his tea and sipped it. The person sitting the opposite of him was Amara as the two were in the cafeteria. She managed to catch him on his way to the cafeteria and so she decided to join him.

"I attract danger. This is not funny." He looked at her with a sigh. "You're mentally exhausting you know?"

"Are you it isn't because of the mission?"

"...Both." She had wanted to know more about his mission and so he told her how things went. If it's her, then he can trust that she wouldn't tell the others. "Unlucky to say that I might have to negotiate with the twins now in the future. I hope they've calmed down and aren't thinking of destroying this place."

"If it's you, then I'm sure you can convince them."

"Please...you have too much faith in me."

"Or you have too little faith in yourself." Amara countered as she took a sip from her own tea. "Everything will work out."

"And why do you say that?"

"Because you always come through with whatever obstacle is in your way."

The Commandant scratched his head at the response. "Now I wouldn't say all that... It's because of everyone else's effort as well. Things couldn't have happened without them." He smiled. "Although I'm still confused about what exactly happened. Was knocking me out necessary? Whoever saved me could've just let me conscious."

"Maybe they didn't wish to reveal themselves?" Amara suggested while putting an entire piece of bread into her mouth.

"True. They must be strong if they got the twins away from me. Or did they flee?" The Commandant hummed as he crossed his arms with a thoughtful expression.

"Mwaybe thwey..."

The Commandant sweat dropped as Amara's words were muffled and unintelligible. "You know I can't understand what you're saying right?"

"I dwon't kmow wmat mou mean." Amara ate another piece of bread by stuffing the entire thing in her mouth happily.

"Slow on the food and take your time with it. Don't eat it whole." The Commandant sighed.

"Well excuse me. Unlike back at our old base, this food isn't crap." Amara said once she finished swallowing the bread. "Even if it's bread. It's still better than what we had to eat."

"Don't complain about our old meal. It was either that or starving."

"True... Doesn't stop the fact that the food sucked."

"No use in complaining much now. You get to eat in a life of luxury now. "By the way. How are the Chibi's doing?"

"They're doing well off on their own. The plushes given to them left them content. Although occasionally they would ask when you will be coming back, I tell them when you're not busy. It's kinda sad seeing them so depressed but I did tell them you'll see them sooner or later." Amara smiled softly.

"Hmm. They sound just like children. It's kinda cute." The Commandant chuckled. "Well, I'll see when my schedule is open. I'll try and see them so I can spend time with them. Can't have them sad now can I?"

"Sounding like a true parent." Amara teased. "Would you care to be a father? I can set up the bed right now."

"Don't go teasing me like that." The Commandant coughed into his fist as his face flushed. "Besides. Constructs can't give birth."
