"This is bad..."

"Just what are you muttering about?"

"Ah! Commandant. You scared—uh...are you okay? You look like you haven't slept."

True to her words. The Commandant looked ghostly pale as he had a mug full of coffee in his hand. "This is the fate of being famous..." He said with an oddly blunt voice as he sipped his coffee.

"Well, that is true... The Commandant is quite famous. Wait wait wait! That doesn't explain why you look so drained!"

"Don't worry about that." The Commandant smiled as he then focused on the person in front of him. "Anyway, what seems to be the trouble?"

"Oh, you know...haha..."

"Is your mecha in maintenance again?"

"How did Commandant know what was troubling Nanami?!" Nanami stared in shock at the man.

"You do know you're out here in the open right? Just now you were fixing it until you heard me and stopped what you were doing." The Commandant bluntly replied as he saw Nanami jump down from her mecha and pout.

"You're being mean to Nanami, Commandant!"

"Not mean. Just explaining my observation." He looked down at the small girl as he placed his mug down on the table. "So what's wrong this time?" He pats the Construct on her head with a smile.

"Stop patting my head. Nanami is not a child."

"If you don't want me patting your head, why aren't you stopping me?" The Commandant asked as he smirked at her. "I like to believe that you do enjoy this." He told her as he moved his away and let it fall limp to his side.

Nanami grinned at the answer as she proceeded to hum. "Geez, Commandant knows Nanami so well." She nodded at him. "You're right, I do love your headpats! Nanami requests daily headpats!" She said with an intense gaze.

"Now now, headpats are a privilege. Don't be spoiled and ask for more young lady." The Commandant scolded her lightly with a joking tone as he saw Nanami pout.

"You say that but who's fault is it?" Nanami leans towards the Commandant and raised a brow.

"Are you implying I spoil you guys?"

"Implying? No!" Nanami shook her head and sighed. "It's not an implication! It's the truth! You spoil everyone after a completed mission!"

"It's not spoiling. I simply reward them for their efforts. You must understand that this is my way of showing gratitude for their hard work."

"Good work out there Sophia for your hard work. As a reward, you'll get headpats!"

"Watanabe! Glad to see you're back! Looks like you achieved your goal, have a headpat!"

"Good job out there Karenina. Headpat!"

Nanami stared blankly at the Commandant as many flashbacks ran through her head. That man just doesn't understand that she's seen him spoil at least each Construct once. She was surprised at this, she would expect some of the Constructs to reject his spoiling but they would accept it, some more flustered than others. The shock of seeing a grown man head patting another grown man.

"Sure...whatever you say, Commandant~" Nanami winked as she then turned to look at her mecha and huffed. "Gonna take a while to get my mecha back at 100%."

"You never did explain what happened." The Commandant stood by Nanami's side as he stared at the mecha. "So far it looks good. Then again, just because something looks swell on the outside, doesn't mean it's alright on the inside." He speaks from experience as a bitter smile formed on his face.
