Akko yawned as he and Laurine had breakfast ready. They were exhausted from the long night of preparing and planned to sleep while the others fought Odysseus. Carmen looked at the doctor rubbing his eyes; he nearly fell asleep trying to hand out the rice bowls. He crashed into the boy's tent, leaving Laurine to care for the rest. But she was too tired to finish and had to leave the bowls by the fireplace. With the two unable to protect the camp while the others were out, Kirschtaria offered to watch their stuff for them. He paused when they stared at him, unwilling to trust him to not steal or burn the tents down.
He emptied his pockets to show he wasn't holding anything and assured them that he had no reason to take out a campsite. The group shared glances at each other, ultimately agreeing that without any weapons or magic, Kirschtaria was harmless. He waved to them as they left for Odysseus' base then went into the boy's tent and searched into Akko's jacket, he shuffled through the pockets until he found a small flash drive and plugged it into his phone. He scrolled through some information about Chaldea, however, it was a name that he was after. "Marisbury" appeared on the list of members and he scrolled further to see that his name was on it as well, despite never hearing about Chaldea beforehand, he was somehow a member. He saved the document and put the flash drive back.
Cleopatra slithered her snake to the entrance of the base, hoping Odysseus wouldn't notice it as she had it hug the wall to get a view of the room. Odysseus was sitting at his desk with a monster circling him. He was reviewing reports about Greece and how his actions led people to think Hades was attempting a rebellion against the other gods, exactly as planned. With the people's attention on Hades, he could do whatever he wanted. He was soon taken aback when he saw Cleopatra's snake, he tapped it with his lance and called the other monsters to see what it was. It kicked sand in his face as it escaped and ran back to the assassin. He exited his base to see Chaldea and pointed at them; they were going to regret making him their enemy.
He sent his monsters after them and they split into groups to take care of each one, holding the chains Akko gave them to keep monsters down after a defeat. The smaller ones weren't an issue, it was Cerberus that held against their attacks. With its claws, it tore through Abhimanyu's arrows and didn't give the archer time to gain distance. Even Cleopatra couldn't keep it down, not with how big its body was when all three heads were combined. It made Chaldea miss Yu and her ability to stun enemies.
It got close to Abhimanyu, nearly pinning the archer who used the god-killing cannon as a shield to keep its claws from reaching him. That was when something came from above, a lance pierced Cerberus' claw and was swung to cut it off. Abhimanyu knew that lance, its golden décor and dark blue base, it was the one he had given his brother. He slowly raised his head to see Shrutakarma standing between him and the monster. With a lance held with its tip at the ground, the rider was preparing for a quick attack, one targeting Cerberus' neck. Shrutakarma moved with incredible speed, not even Abhimanyu saw his feet leave the ground. Cerberus fell to the ground and Cleopatra went to tie it up with the chain then dragged it to the growing pile.
"Brother," Abhimanyu approached his brother. "Is it... you?"
"Who else would I be?" Shrutakarma opened his arms and let his younger brother hug him. "I missed you."
"Nowhere near how much I missed you," Abhimanyu tightened his grip. "Do you remember what happened?"
"I do, and I promise you that I will protect you, because this time, that goddess won't get in my head."
"That's just great," Cleopatra yelled. "How about you help us out then get back to talking?"
"I'll show you that your big brother still has it."
Shrutakarma jumped, he spun and drilled his lance into a monster, sure to avoid its vitals, and ran to the next one. However, there was something that Abhimanyu noticed, he wasn't using his magic. He was relying on his speed to slash the monsters and avoid their attacks. He was the opposite of Tutankhamun, who was focused on one strike taking out the enemy.
