Yu's phone began to ring, causing her to lift her sunglasses and pick them up. "Hello?"

There was a stutter and then some static before Ibuki's voice was heard, "miss Yu... we need help."

"I'm on break, is it important?"

"It's Douma... he's out of control."

"What level of 'out of control' do you mean?"

Silence, "gathered an army of demons in Japan, took over the castle, and destroyed almost every statue of Amaterasu."

"I'm coming back, and he better have a good explanation for this, else, I'm going to kill him." Yu dislodged the umbrella from its stand and made her way over to where the others were. She slammed it into the sand as they watched her struggle to try to stabilize it.

"Is something wrong?" Carmen asked.

"I need you to take me to Japan, Douma made an ass of himself, and I need to clean it up." Yu dragged her umbrella with her and got right into Akko's face. "You have a waypoint to China, right? Take me there."

"Yu, calm down. If Douma is in trouble, then we'll go together."

The wind was cold, Japan was covered in a thick red fog and only a few lights were seen in the distance. A woman stood on the top of a ruined building, one that just barely kept her over the fog barrier. She kept her hands covered by her sleeves and had to bring in her jacket. A man landed beside her; his entire body was concealed in a black cloak and his black hair waved in the wind. It had only been a few days since they returned, and they were surprised to find Japan was in shambles. The man kicked the fog underneath him, and immediately, something tried to jump up and grab his leg. He pulled back and stood behind the woman. She cackled at his reaction, then composed herself. She pointed to the castle, that was their goal.

Another figure stood near the mist, a young boy with his eyes closed. Before the woman got too close, she recognized him. Xuerui. He was there with a mechanical aid by his side, most certainly Shi Huang Di, and had been watching the events. It was no surprise that after Guan Yin died, the demons would be freed. They were forced out of China thanks to the new council, but Japan was another story. Japan wasn't protected and it was the perfect ground to make a new territory out of. Xuerui didn't smile nor frown at the idea that people were fighting against the demons, failing, and being eaten as a result. He merely stood there, unaffected by anything.

He turned to look at the woman, "do you want something?"

"An explanation would be nice," she responded.

"I'd say the demons are running wild."

"And whose fault is that? Those statues didn't break themselves."

All she got was silence as Xuerui walked away, uninterested in talking.

Carmen got out of the shower and dressed in her Chaldea uniform, the others were ready as well, and since it was an emergency, used Akko's teleport. They also made sure to tell Laurine where they were going so, they didn't give her a heart attack.

They found China was in a worse state than it was when Guan Yin was king. Carmen knocked on a door to see if anyone would answer; she saw the curtain open, then a loud scratching noise made her cover her ears before a woman cracked the door open. She grabbed Carmen's arm, pulled the girl inside, and gestured for the others to follow. The house was barricaded, with wooden boards against the wall, the door held closed by a cabinet, and weapons hung from the walls. Yu was about to say something, but it was clear the woman was too scared to speak. She had seen how scared the people were of Guan Yin, yet somehow, the fear the woman was showcasing was much worse.
