"My name..." the girl said as she thought out loud. "Mari, Mari Cheng."

"Is there anything wrong with her, doctor?" Shinji asked.

"No," Akko examined the girl. "She doesn't have external or internal injuries, mentally she's stable, and there isn't anything wrong with her magic circuits. She's fine, so why is her memory messed up?"

"I should report this to the boss, maybe she'll know what to do."

"Is that the girl Guan Yin was using as a vessel?" Yu wondered while she watched the doctor and Shinji examine Mari.

"I guess so," Helena responded. "She's awfully quiet, Shinji says when she woke up, all she did was draw in her notebook until we came. She's a good designer, Miss Crane could use someone like her in the workshop."

"I wonder where she came from."

"I'm more curious about how many people are like her. Carmen, Mitra, and the doctor are from some world called Chaldea. Or is that their hometown? You know what I mean."

"Whoever she is... she's going to need a lot of help, fitting into a new place isn't easy, I would know."

Helena saw Yu's expression, a hint of loneliness remained in her eyes. Even though she had friends, a part of her, the one who missed Xiang Yu, was still there. Helena left the room to let the others figure it out for themselves, she sat on the bench where the sun was the brightest to ponder what to do next. They were supposed to head towards Australia, where Shinji said the gate was, but they got sidetracked when Mari was found awake. Helena looked at the scene of Rome's farmlands, the green leaves blew in the wind, the rivers cascaded into the ocean, and the golden sun reflected on each dew drop of the plants while they were being watered.

She saw Nero chasing baby chickens with Carmen as they got out of the pen and into the fields, Mitra talking to the farmers about the new crops, and some of the council members as they were passing by to gather information on Rome's status. Liuvigild waved to her while he was taking notes and Liuva had to drag him away before he bothered her. Helena got up and went over to Liuvigild, she wanted to know what was going on in Rome and if he heard any news about the realms. He showed her the notes he was taking; most were about the new crops being grown in the fields and the people who were visiting. A few people from India were in town and they seemed to be happy to get away from their realm.

Akko finally left Shinji's house, he wiped the sweat off his forehead and went to sit in the shade. Rome was getting hotter due to summer approaching. He started watching as Carmen grabbed the last baby chicken and put it back in its pen, she was sweating from running and got some iced water from Nero's dad who let the girls sit inside. Carmen waved to the doctor before she entered with Nero, and he raised his hand in response. The only one who wasn't affected by the heat was Mitra, which made sense, he was a fire god after all. He sat next to the doctor and seemed to want to simply hang out. The two didn't spend much time together since Akko was working with Probus in Rome and was sick in China.

"So, how are you doing, doc?" Mitra asked.

"I've had better days," Akko pulled on the collar of his uniform to get some cool air.

"Not used to the heat?"

"Chaldea was in the middle of a snowstorm just about every day, the hottest it got was when Da Vinci left the heater on for too long and we had to open the windows. Bad idea because we lost Fou in the snow for five days before Mash found him buried headfirst in Kadoc's room after it was completely consumed. Kadoc was livid... let me tell you. Basically: no, I'm not used to the heat."

"I always wonder about Chaldea; I have some of Kyan's memories... but it's different than hearing stories."

"Did Carmen ever tell you about the time Roman spilled his coffee all over Da Vinci? She looked like she was going to murder him. He was apologizing to her for a week straight."
