The outsider's town was guarded by a large wall and had enforcers by the entrance. Unlike the other towns, it was seen as a place of controversy. Laurine explained that there was a man named Oberon who took over when the area was abandoned, and he had other groups take refuge in it. But he ended up causing trouble for the church and he was killed. Ever since then, the town was under strict rules by the church and was watched by the enforcers to the people from trying a stunt like he did again. Although she had no idea what he did to get them so upset at him, no one did, the higher-ups kept that information a secret.

Chaldea split from there to explore the town, they had to look for Ophelia Phamrsolone and they were curious about what the people were like.

"Don't you have anything better to do than sticking around here?" A woman with dark blue hair asked.

"I've got nothing to do all day," another woman with red hair said.

"Besides loitering around here, aren't you supposed to be a prominent figure in Caligo? What are you doing in a quiet library in Xiatian's outskirts?"

"My job is to study the crystals, and what better place to do research than the library?"

"Outside," the woman with blue hair opened the window and pointed at the crystals growing like flowers in the garden.

"Fair point... can I borrow this book?"

"Whatever gets you out of my hair."

The woman with red hair stepped out of the library and sat next to the flowerpot to study the crystals growing out of it. She moved her hair aside to show she was wearing a cloth over her right eye and orange sparkles flew out. She adjusted the red bow that had a red orb attached and took off her white jacket to reveal a pink shirt underneath and a maroon short skirt with black pants. She opened the book and tapped on one of the crystal flowers to see how it reacted to movement. Carmen approached her and asked what she was doing; she showed the mage a page from the book and specified the line about flowers. It was natural for plant life to have crystals around them or be made of crystals.

Despite how crazy it sounded, the flora thrived and had no problem creating seeds. She shook the flower bud and showed Carmen some of the seeds. They were tiny crystals that she threw into the soil and covered them with her black boots. With a little magic, they grew into new flowers instantly. She picked one and gave it to Carmen as a welcoming gift; she stood up and held her hand out. Her name was Ophelia Phamrsolone, and she was a bit of a nerd when it came to Xiatian's landscape. She went in close and told Carmen that the holy god Q'yth-Az was the reason crystals grew so naturally. Anywhere else and they'd be the same as rocks.

However, their properties remained the same. They absorbed magic and released it with over twice the original strength. She broke the stem of a flower to release a small burst of magic. In response, the librarian threw a small box at her, she was making too much noise and if she released more magic in the air the enforcers would be all over the library. She was told to leave if she was going to be a nuisance and took Carmen with her to a small cafe where they sat outside. To tell the truth, she was waiting for Carmen to show up, she had gotten a message from the White Bishop about Chaldea helping her with a few problems.

She brought out a small list of things she had to do and one of them was about traveling at night, due to the rules, she couldn't complete it and she had to get research done about the special monsters. There were rumors about how the moonlight affected the crystals and produced monsters that were stronger than normal, even the enforcers spent all night trying to fight them off. She'd love to see them in action, but because of the rules, she was stuck in town borders with no way to look out. She was asking if Chaldea had a way to sneak into the forest at night, they avoided capture from the previous kings, so surely, they had a way with the shadows.
