The Decembers

Chapter 34

    Everyone was looking at us as we step into the room. I was very impressed by the way the whole building look like. I still cannot believe this is going to be our new school. I am excited to learn from Ace and who knows maybe even from the sun twins. Also, I cannot wait to meet Ms. Willow. I Remember the sun twins bringing her up at breakfast. Telling us that she teaches the history of Rave.

    "Alright my students. We shall learn the skill of blocking. Some of you already learn this skill and are very good at it, but others have yet to learn. So, I appreciate for those who have already learn this lesson, will please help me teach it."

    Once Ace said that the students that stood up was of course the much older ones. Cyrus, Joey, Greyson, and Stella all walk up to the front of the class to stood next to Ace. I wonder what he is going to have them do. I can tell that I was not the only one who was curious. I can see everyone else was as well.

    "Now first I will have Cyrus and Joey show you all an example of how you should block yourself from harm. Then you all will also see an example of a way how you should not block, or you will get hurt. That example will be shown by Greyson and Stella. Let me first just say why this is very an important skill to have in your life. You never know when danger will appear. It can appear when you at least aspect it or even when you do aspect it. In fact, being a better blocker is more important than being a fighter, because if you can block a great fighter then that already makes you one step further ahead of them."

    Ace was right. If any of us can be amazing at blocking that alone will make us strong. If I knew how to block before the creature forest, I would probably not have been scratch from that rat. I was very excited to learn this lesson. I have always been good when it comes to athletic stuff. Knowing that we need to use our bodies a lot for this lesson made me happy.

    "I need all of you to stand against the wall. I want Cyrus and Joey to have enough space to be able to move around."

    Ace then tells Cyrus that he will be the attacker while Joey will be the blocker. They both nod their heads and stood in the middle of the classroom. Everyone was on their tip toes for this one. I mean was Ace really going to let Cyrus attack Joey. He must have a lot of faith in her or she is just that good.

    Cyrus and Joey where both looking at each other. Both were smiling, knowing what is about to happen. The rest of us waited patiently for one of them to make a move. Even though we all know it was going to be Cyrus most likely to make the first move since he is the attacker after all. This was going to be interesting to watch.

    Cyrus then pulls out his whip and whips it towards Joey. She ducks down and stands back up and watches the whip go back to Cyrus. He then whips his whip again, but this time Joey moves her head on to the right side. As the whip once again heads back to him, Joey grasps it with her hand and pulls him which causes him to fall on the ground to his knees. He then gets up right away and runs towards her. They both start fighting with their fist. Soon as you know it, I am seeing arms flying everywhere.

    While Cyrus is trying to attack her, instead of her fighting back she is blocking him with her arms. You can tell he was trying his best, but she was just good at blocking. Watching her block like that made me want to be good as her. Ace then tells them that was enough, and both place their hands down to their sides. He then dismisses them to return to the rest of us.

    "Now that you all have seen how you should block. I want you to see how you should not block. Greyson and Stella, you are both up. I want you Greyson to be the blocker and for Stella to be the attacker."
